I typically feed my Imperial Shih Tzu fare that is grassfed, organic, but cooked instead of raw (comes to me frozen). The reason for this is that repeated trials of feeding my pup the best raw foods available would consistently make him ill (vomiting). (My experience with the shih tzu breed is that their gastrointestinal systems can't handle raw diets as well as other dog breeds can. It's as though the breed, in the process of having been bred for pure companionship, has lost not only the working dog's behavioral traits, but the associated hardy GI enzymes as well.)
This is the first raw food-- freeze-dried or frozen-- that my pup actually LOVES. Hallelujah for finding a food that is extremely healthy, doesn't require freezing or refrigeration, and that my finicky dog actually finishes!
I've just returned to this website to order my second batch. I felt compelled to write this review because I am so happy with this food that I want to spread the word about it, so that this TruDog company can continue to do well so that my pooch can continue to benefit!!! :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tori Extremely healthy for dogs
My dogs absolutely love this addition to thier food. While I don't get the actual Trupet dog food because I have 3 large dogs, I get this enhancer and sprinkle it on thier food. Why? First of all because of the ingedients. If I could afford to feed them straight Trupet food I would. This has none of the biproducts that many dog foods have. And second... my dogs are wild for it. Even if I give them something I know they don't like... sprinkle this on it and it's gone in minutes. The LOVE it.

This might be a good product for some dogs, but my dog wouldn't touch it. He's a VERY picky eater and I had hoped it would encourage him to eat his dog food, but it made it worse.
