I bought these for my 14 yo dog who had some plaque issues. The vet said she needed them cleaned but at her age, I didnt want her knocked out due to the dangers. I bought a bag of 30 at my vets and another bag after that. She had a 2 month follow up and the vet was amazed at her teeth and asked what I was doing for her. I told her about these chews. My dog still gets one eveyday and will continue to do so plus she loves them. I highly recommend them.

My yorkie puppy does not stop until he finishes these! I give him one every day to help keep his teeth clean.

I don't know how well they work individually as we introduced them at the same time as other teeth cleaning products. We bought the petite size for out 15lb Bichon Frise because she's an animated chewer and I worry about her choking on larger, soft pieces of rawhide. But she needed her teeth cleaned at home so we don't have to put her under at the vet's - there has been a noticable [frankly amazing] reduction in tartar and plaque since using these along with Dental Chewz [see other products reviewed] and Tropiclean Clean Teeth Gel. We also use a Tropiclean water additive but had not noticed a reduction before this. I do know that my girl love love LOVES these and will come from another room when she hears the bag. I try to hold the pieces so she has to bite and chew from both sides since they are quite easy to break apart and she can down them in no time - I want them to work! I will definitely buy again and wish they weren't so expensive!

by doghouse Inconsistent sizing
While this product may work as described, it would be difficult to believe it was so since the pieces of chews within the size bag are vastly different. I cannot believe that my dogs could be getting a therapeutic benefit when the pieces are sometimes so small and thin that they barely need to chew. They just get the piece of rawhide soft and swallow it whole. This is dangerous and a choking hazard. When I purchase medium chews, I need medium chews, not petite chews. I will likely not purchase again.

She pouts and pouts if she doesn't have one or two these also. She doesn't like to go a day without one or two.

These are the only rawhides our vet recommends and our dogs absolutely love them! I only buy them here at Chewy, as they are half the cost they are at the vet. We have Patterdale Terriers and they are voracious chewers, even as puppies, so these are a necessity.

by Neecey These chews are a must in our house
I have always given my dogs these chews. None of them have ever had to have a teeth cleaning. Keeping your dogs teeth healthy is very important. My oldest dog is a 13 year old Golden who has great teeth plus these chews help with her breath. Considering I have 4 large dogs, I am always looking for the best price. I found a good price on Chewy. Hope it stays that way. Also, because I am a procrastinator, I was pleasantly surprised at the quick delivery. I will use Chewy again and will never not use C.E.T. Hextra chews.

My fox terrier loves these. He will stand on his hind legs, twirl, then stretch as far up as he can, almost like he is reaching for them with his paws.
I bought these as well as the Virbac C.E.T. VeggieDent Tartar Control Dog Chews, which he also loves. However, when I put one of each on the floor (about 3 feet apart) he goes to both, sniffs, and always picks the Virbac C.E.T. HEXtra chews.
Now...about tarter control. I think they work pretty well. His teeth, like most small breed dogs, tend to gather tarter easily. These chews do keep that down enough so that I don't have to make yearly dental cleaning appointments. Cost wise, it probably comes out the same (dental cleaning vs. 2 years of dog tarter chews), but chewing is much more preferred than him having to going through elective surgery.
