This was my first order of Wapiti antlers from Chewy.com. Previously I had made all of my purchases through my local vet but, with prices being lower here I thought I'd give this retailer a try.
I have a 75lb Chow-Pitbull mix who's a gentle guy but a passionate chewer. The only product I've been able to count on for durability and quality has been Wapiti's larger elk antlers. One of these antlers normally lasts my bud about three months.
So, I ordered two (for variety) of the XL. Ordering and shipping went off without a hitch. Upon receipt, I noticed a significant difference in the two antlers' texture right away. Of course, canine was thrilled and couldn't wait to wrestle an elk. But sure enough, within a half hour one of the antlers was reduced from nearly 9 inches to less than 6, with shards and mung scattered all over carpet, dog bed and muzzle. This has not been my experience in over two years of using Wapiti Lab Antlers, or with elk antlers for that matter.
Perehaps this was an anomaly. But at over $25 apiece, I am somewhat reluctant to recommend either Chewy or Wapiti at present. I do so only because of my previous experience with the brand through my vet and that the second antler seems to be holding up.
I do feel certain canine would rate the Chewy and Wapiti experience as 'five stars'. He has certinly done more damage to these antlers in a shorter period of time than any previously, and that has likey been great for his self-esteem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sanbet Great for chewers
I have one German Shepherd who chews one of these for hours a day. They do not break, or splinter, and all 3 of my dogs love the taste. They last a very long time.
They are a little pricey, for sure, but worth it for the length of time they last and how much the dogs love them.
Overall a very good buy.

by Janet3767 My 19-lb. Frenchy Adores His Wapiti Labs Whole Elk Antler Dog Chew
My wood furniture used to have corners and the cabinets in my kitchen and bathrooms used to have paint on their bottom-most three inches. That was before I got Banjo, a French bull dog puppy. Before I go on, I should clarify; Banjo's breeder advertises as a purebred, AKC-approved French bull dog breeder, however, I have recently corresponded with her to urge her to review her records as I have come to believe Banjo's father must have been either a chain saw or a GMO-fed termite. Which leads us back to my opening sentence about the past condition of the furniture and cabinets in my home, and Banjo, and my nothing-less-than-life-changing discovery of the Wapiti Labs Whole Elk Antler Dog Chew. This thing has saved what remains of the wood and wood-like items in my home, as Banjo willingly lets go of none of these items for any of his nuclear-grade, guaranteed indestructible, veterinarian-endorsed, made-in-a-smelt toys; however, since becoming enamored of his new Wapiti Labs Whole Elk Antler Dog Chew, he gleefully detaches from chair legs, table pedestals, and cabinet faces in favor of this beloved treat. He trots proudly from room to room with his prized antler in his mouth, and guards it from squirrels who gaze jealously down upon him from their trees above the patio, desiring something so delicious-sounding for themselves. While I truly endeavor to be grateful that I have a dog with such healthy and tireless jaws, it is for the Wapiti Labs Whole Elk Antler Dog Chew that I reserve my highest gratitude. And thank you, Chewy.com, for carrying them. All I was looking for when I went to your website was a crate pad, but angels must have been guiding me that day because I found a savior in an 8-inch piece of the bony castoff of an animal I have never seen and cannot imagine knows the sheer delight it has brought to my little masticating machine.
I would like to take this opportunity to inquire as to a possible bulk discount for Wapiti Labs Whole Elk Antler Dog Chews, as Banjo is now four months old, approaching teething age, and I, having recently priced cast iron furniture, have determined that about a hundred Wapiti Labs Whole Elk Antler Dog Chews would probably be cheaper.
Most Truly Yours,

The X-Large antlers were great. My Mastiff and Pit provide great entertainment stealing the antler from each other. I have never given them a toy that they enjoyed more. Thank you!

Rated 2 out of 5 by nethan90 Disappointed in the size/circumference
Got this in the mail recently and was pretty disappointed. Got the 40lb+ one for my 60lb dog since I assumed the X-Large one would be too big. I bought 3 antlers of similar size ranges from different brands (including this one) to compare. The circumference of this one is about 1/3-1/2 the size of the similarly priced ones from the other brands I bought. I also got one of the "ends" so the circumference was not consistent throughout the antler (it comes to a point). Within a day my dog already had the pointier end small enough to break small pieces off.
Would maybe be okay for a 40ish lb dog, but definitely not 60+.

I got the giant because my 65lb weimaraner is a heavy chewer. I hoped this would last a while since I paid so much for it. It lasted a week n a half. Next time I'll just stick with the cheaper ones since it lasts about the same time. If you have a dog that is not a hard core chewer then it's worth the money. I do think he loved how it wasn't smooth though cuz it made it easier to hang onto.
