Rated 3 out of 5 by Raffi QUESTIONABLE FOOD?
I love that this is a weight management AND grain-free canned food - seems hard to find. My dog (German Shepherd mix) likes this food, but haven't really noticed any weight loss. The biggest problem I have with this food is that in some of the cans (not all - which worries me even more!), there were dark patches! Most of the cans were all one color, but a few had those patches in it, which made me feel there was something bad with the can. I threw those out. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it normal?

Rated 5 out of 5 by TerryH Canned Wellness Core Weight Management
Our 7 yr old dog has many health issues for which he is on a low fat high fibre diet. This food helps provide that diet and keeps his stools solid. We serve him Wellness Core W/M along with Prescription Diet r/d which also is low fat and high fibre.
Our dogs issues include diabetes, cushings, and recent related pancreatitis. These are serious issues and diet is vital to his health. No more treats or scraps for the rest of his life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Diesel1011 My pitty loves it!
My 5 year-old rescue pitty has been on this for the last few months. He was extremely obese when we adopted him and using Wellness CORE Grain-Free Weight Management canned dog food in conjunction with Wellness Core dry weight management food, we are slowly inching toward his target weight. We mix the two and load up his Kong twice a day. One happy puppy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by riches As good as regular
I have a tzu with a weight problem and he was eating regular CORE canned food. I switched him to the weight mgmt formula and he didn't miss a beat. He is happy eating this but I do notice a different smell and texture to it. He hasn't lost anything yet but it's only been a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GravitysGone Fantastic Protein/Fat/Carbohydrate Ratio
Ingredients: A reputable on-line pet food review site rates this as a 5 star food (based on ingredient content), which is the highest rating given. Wellness Core Reduced Fat contains 11% protein and 3.5% fat (not adjusted for moisture by weight), which makes it a protein centered diet food. This product has the best protein/fat/carbohydrate ratio I found in a wet food to meet the nutritional goals for my (formerly) overweight dogs.
Observations: My 5 ½ year old Golden Retrievers adapted favorably to this food. The texture and smell are pleasing (at least to the human eye and nose), and the dogs seem to enjoy the taste. I utilize the canned food basically as a topper, and mix with the Wellness Core Reduced Fat dry food. I switched to Wellness Core after the female experienced an acute case of Pancreatitis (which she has not had any flare-ups or GI upsets since switching to WC). Both dogs have lost a moderate amount of weight in the two months since switching to Wellness Core. Admittedly, I tend to switch up their wet food periodically, so the overall results are more representative of the dry food, but I have only noticed good results during the Wellness Core portion of the wet food rotation.
Price/Value: Chewy has the best price I have found on this product anywhere. This product typically costs in the range of $0.18/oz, placing it in the middle price range for high end grain free canned foods. There are a few other grain free canned foods available at lower prices, that typically have slightly more fat, but since I only use as a topper it does not seem to matter as much. If not for the higher price, I would use the Wellness Core Reduced Fat canned food exclusively.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Christine33 A good grain-free choice
It's hard to find dog food that's both grain free and reduced calorie. This food fits the bill & worked well for our dog's sensitive tummy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Meum It works!!!!
Our girl rottie couldn't get around very well due to some medical issues so she was getting really 'fluffy'. We knew we were to blame but couldn't turn down those big brown eyes!! In December we found out our 11 year old girl has a slow growing mass in her leg and she weighed 130 pounds. Our friend (who is feeding her dog the same food) suggested we try this dog food in both the canned and dry version. We followed her suggestion and our girl loves it and has dropped her weight down to 118 pounds! She's more active now and we feel better knowing that we are helping her to feel better.
