About Us
The East Bay SPCA is committed to the welfare of cats and dogs in the communities we serve. We strive to eliminate animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation by providing programs and education that support people and companion animals. Founded in 1874, the East Bay SPCA is an independent nonprofit organization serving Alameda and Contra Costa counties and beyond. We are community-based and do not receive any "shared" contributions from any national or other SPCA, Humane Society or animal welfare organization. Our programs include Adoptions, Behavior and Training, Humane Education, Humane Advocacy, Volunteering, our full-service Clinic and Spay and Neuter.
