About Us
Los Perros Perdidos Foundation was started by Toree Warfield and Karin Jakobsmeier in mid-2022. Karin has been capturing and rescuing street dogs in Cancun for more than 10 years on her own, often rehabilitating animals at her home. Toree came to Cancun in March of 2022 with the idea of trying to help dogs there. The two women connected and began to devise a more far-reaching plan to help even more dogs. (1) Karin had been conducting spay/neuter clinics in various neighborhoods with good results. She promoted and managed these events herself. But often wished that she had a mobile van, able to travel about to the neighborhoods. And this idea has become one of our goals. (2) The second goal of our organization is to create a sanctuary for street dogs, where they can convalesce after being spayed/neutered; and where they can be treated for various ailments that are common to street animals. (3) Our third goal is to rehome these animals; transporting to the U.S. and Canada.Find Us
