Rated 5 out of 5 by Miracle Kibble I wanted to see what all the hype was about, and I wasn't disappointed - this food is amazing! All 4 cats showed amazing progress on this food from silky smooth coats, barely any hairballs, healthy lean bodies, and improved energy. Even my 13-year-old cat who mostly would lay around is running around like a kitten again. The price may seem high, but the price per cup isn't that much more than most brands. I recommend a slow transition with this food as well. Sometimes switching from grocery store bought brands to something as rich as Orijen can upset the tummy - it's like going from eating fast food to salads. Introduce the kibble slowly with a ratio of 75% old food / 25% new food for a few days, then 50/50, 25% old food / 75% new food and then completely. You won't be disappointed. Orijen is the best there is for a very good reason: An all natural choice for your pet that only deserves the best. April 11, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Amendment To Earlier Review After extensive research into the urinary tract issues one of my cats had shortly after switching to this food, I have determined this food is DEFINITELY a contributor, and I have to say I can't recommend it to others, even who have cats who don't get UTI's. The problem isn't the aforementioned spinach, but the GINORMOUS amount of seafood in this product. It just isn't good for cats (too many reasons to list in a review# and is not a natural part of their diet. I will allow occasional seafood in some of their canned food, but not the dry version they eat every single day . Yes, this food is made with cage-free , locally sourced, fresh-delivered ingredients, all great things (hence the 2 stars), but what I have learned completely changes the way I look at cat food. To keep this review much shorter than my 1st, i'll just say that Merrick has some grain-free dry foods without seafood, so i'll probably be going that direction. . March 9, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by If, like me, you must, occasionally, serve dry food... I rate it good because it is dry food. I've spent too much time, money, and worried nights on male cats with urinary tract issues to ever go all dry or even daily rations. Reality, however, makes the convenience of dry food necessary. Orijen makes it something you can feel good about feeding your cat. There are no straight starches: no rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, wheat, etc... Cats have no use for that. The amount of animal ingredients you have to go through before reaching the vegetable recognizes a cat's natural diet. The veggies and supliments are few and simple enough to reflect their prey's diet. I do Tiki Cat for regular feedings. I give Orijen dry When I know I'm going to miss a feeding or two. Its like a treat for my boys. But I also make sure they have extra water. May 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic food that our cats love (after getting used to it) I'd heard about this food from the shelter owner we adopted both our kittens from, but we held off trying it out until they were six months old and big enough to handle the larger-size kibble. While I know that wet food is very important for cats in terms of extra water intake, we needed to be able to give them dry as well for when we take day trips or longer vacations where getting wet food every day isn't as practical. They were used to Royal Canin babysat dry food, and it was definitely an adjustment to get them eating this food. I imagine the flavor profile is a bit different since it has no grains, and it took about a month of mixing the Orijen with their old dry food and gradually building up to all Orijen. But now they love their new food; our older cat comes running as soon as he hears the crinkle of the bag being taken out of the cabinet. The one thing about this kibble is that it does nothing to help their dental health; they both had visible gingivitis on their last vet visit, and we've had to combine this with Greenies dental treats to get that under control. (I've written a review for those as well) Buying this 15-pound bag is definitely more economical than buying a bunch of 5-pound bags. Just buy a single 5-pounder, then keep refilling it with kibble from the 15-pound one; you can seal up the 15-pound bag in between refills so the kibble stays fresh. May 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Orijen goes further than other brands I have switched my four cats between this food and Science Diet and Pro Plan, and another food I don't remember. They eat less of the Orijen than the other brands, so if you're switching to Orijen, consider cutting the amount of food you give your cat(s) by maybe 10% and see how they do. I have an automatic feeder, and that's why it's been really noticeable for me that they eat different amounts based on what food is being dispensed. With Orijen, I often have to return some of the food from the feed bowl to the reservoir. With the other foods, I've had to get extra food out of the reservoir to keep up with their consumption. I'm guessing, very roughly, that the difference is about 10% in volume. May 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My cats love it! With three cats, I was skeptical on purchasing a new food for them. I have a Persian who was throwing up almost every day, so I did some research to find a natural cat food, to help with her upset stomach, as well as a food that all three would like. To my surprise, from the first bowl I put down, they loved it! When I get up in the morning, the bowls are empty and that didn't happen with any other dry cat food I've ever purchased! And my Persian isn't throwing up anymore! Thank you Orijen for such a good product and I hope the price stays low enough to continue to buy your product, because with three cats, I'll be purchasing it frequently! May 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food Using this and 6 Fish for 4 stray (now our pets) cats. Tolerated well. Feeding time is a panic but fun. Each cat gets his individual bowl twice a day, no grazing. Delivery time to Phoenix is 2 days- excellent!! May 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely wonderful One of my cats usually throws up, when eating name brand grocery store dry cat food. I have tried several brands, with no luck. I purchased this Wonderful dry catfood for a very picky eater, but had to leave some out because I was going to be gone the whole day. I was dreading coming home to find possible throw up in window sills, and on my carpet. I sang a song of praises when I walked in the clean house. I had to do it again the next day, due to family gathering. I was so curious, and wanted to get home to see if the house would be clean again. OMG !! Again !! A clean house. This wonderful Cat & Kitten Dry Cat Food is worth the money. There is nothing unhealthy in it, to make your cat sick. I love it !! I will be using this from here, on out. April 26, 2016
