The patented design works by discouraging what’s known as the “opposition reflex,” which is the reflex that encourages dogs to pull against pressure caused by traditional harnesses. Instead, this leash features an action loop at the back between the shoulders, enabling your dog to walk in a straight line without twisting or straining. A structural ring on the front of the chest offers a second control point, allowing you to “steer” your dog and redirect his attention—which comes in handy when a squirrel crosses your path! Easy to fit and easy to use, it all connects with the included double connection leash.

To get the most accurate size harness for your pet, measure the girth of their chest, around the widest part of your dog's torso right behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

I purchased this harness with the special leash that comes with it at the recommendation of a behavioral vet specialist and certified dog trainer fear free.. we have a German Shepherd she does pull on the leash the purpose of this included leash is training not to pull. After literally 14 times of use the leash threading frayed and is ready to rip it is not chewed by my dog. It frayed. I feel it's very poorly made as my trainer told me use your own leashes because that leash is poorly made had the same problem with her pity rescue. Not what I expect from chewy and the purpose of a no pull harness with an included special leash luckily I noticed it before walking her it would have torn right in half see photos I could have lost my dog. The harness is great the included leash however horrible and I think you should provide a replacement she doesn't pull that hard. Behavioral vet & trainer agree. Poorly made!!! I never leave reviews on chewy that are bad as we've never had a problem with any product until now now we cannot walk around the harness unless we use two of our own leashes which defeat the purpose of teaching her not to pull. It was expensive and not what I expect of poor quality. Now we have to find where to purchase the extra leash that will go with it that is for the purpose of training she only weighs 65 lb
The no pull harness is great! More than that, however, I just wanted to thank you so much for your incredible customer service. I originally ordered the wrong size. You told me to donate that to a shelter which I will do!!! and you credited my account and sent me the correct size without charging shipping. In these days, when it seems like most companies don't seem to care about customer service, You great folks at Chewy go above and beyond!! Ozzy thanks you too!!
I saw some of the negative reviews for this product, and thought maybe it was defective, this is a good brand and has seemingly good reviews. Well to my surprise I went to take my dog for a walk today and the harness is already fallen apart. I’ve walked her maybe 5 times for 30 minutes. I’m just grateful I checked it before going out on the walk. Absolutely cannot recommend. It’s sad that it’s hard to find a good no-pull harness these days with everything made so cheaply.
We have a 75 lb puller, part Husky who thinks he should be up front on the sled. Saw these listed and after the initial struggle of him rejecting the whole idea ours hung on the rack for months. So, one day for our usual walk I threw it in the car and when it came time to dismount just casually slipped it on with lead in hand. He actually likes this thing and walks loose leash somewhat beside me. He found out right away it doesn't pay to go his own way and that without the choking on a collar. Hasn't solved all the problems or made him perfect, just much better. Thanks 2 Hounds for much better walks.
This harness works great on our Rhodesian Ridgeback. Solid construction, quality hardware, light and gives him plenty of freedom to move. Should last a long time. The large fits perfect at maximum extension but he’s a little smaller than average.
I used to work with working line dogs and these were a godsend, they really help pulling and last through anything. I love these harnesses and my lab puts them to the test, water, mud, woods, and everything else. I’ve used these for almost 5 years for all activities and on different breeds and they always will be my pick! Worth every penny!
My 10.5lb Chihuahua-Datsun mix was pulling so hard on our walks I was having back pain. I really needed a solution. Problem resolved! with the 2Hounds Freedom no-pull Harness. This has made our walks very enjoyable and back-pain free for me! I got the size XS and it fits well. It took about 20min to make the adjustments but well worth it. Fits securely & does not interfere with her regular dog collar. The users guide was very helpful. So easy now to slip put on and take off. I only unclip one side to do so. The included training leash is a great help. They also offer a chewing warranty in case your dog chews or damages it. I am very satisfied with this product.
This harness was a game changer for me and my 75lb pittie. We also did training so he doesn't pull constantly on walks, but I feel confident in being able to control him in public if he sees something he wants to go after. He responds much better on this harness. As for the leash, it is VERY short. If you want your dog only right next to you it's okay, but it doesn't give very much room to roam. Also I'm 5'2''. If I were any taller I don't know if it would work at all...
I purchased this after my first remote (which I bought with the collar originally) broke but this one doesn’t work at all. It connects at first but then immediately disconnects. I’ve read all of the directions and tried everything. I cannot get it to work and can’t return it anymore so I’m just out the money - wouldn’t recommend.
This harness doesn’t completely stop my husky from pulling, but significantly reduces it! He only pulls if he sees another dog or a squirrel and its still a significant improvement, he is much easier to control and he cannot slip out of this harness like his previous one. This harness makes it much easier for my 12 yo to walk the dog while I recover from surgery! So it had been a lifesaver. I would give 4.5 stars. I see the negative reviews with the broken straps. It says in the instructions to remove after walks, so they don’t chew through the straps. If you follow this you should be fine!
