The patented design works by discouraging what’s known as the “opposition reflex,” which is the reflex that encourages dogs to pull against pressure caused by traditional harnesses. Instead, this leash features an action loop at the back between the shoulders, enabling your dog to walk in a straight line without twisting or straining. A structural ring on the front of the chest offers a second control point, allowing you to “steer” your dog and redirect his attention—which comes in handy when a squirrel crosses your path! Easy to fit and easy to use, it all connects with the included double connection leash.

To get the most accurate size harness for your pet, measure the girth of their chest, around the widest part of your dog's torso right behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

I love this harness so much; I've used it with two dogs now, and while I've tried other harnesses, 2 Hounds Freedom No Pull is by far my favorite. The options of a front or top harness and a leash designed to clip on to either spot... OR BOTH... gives me options depending on where we are and how much control I need over my (enthusiastic) pup. I use both clips on the city streets and then once we're in the park I switch to one clip so my dog can have a longer leash. As both of my dogs have been short haired, the velvet cover over the belly strap prevents chafing on the soft skin near the forelegs. And I love the martingale loop when clipping to the top of the harness. My current pup is doing well learning to not pull on the walk and this harness makes training easy. My last dog, due to anxiety (we got her as an adult), never learned not to pull, but the Freedom No Pull's front clip made for a more comfortable walking experience for both of us; I didn't end our walks with aching arms and she didn't end them frustrated. It's an effective, comfortable option for both the polite and the exuberant pooch, and makes walking your dog the pleasure it should be.
We bought this hoping it would be a better solution than our girl's Gentle Leader, but after 2 uses she developed a severe limp. We took her to the vet, who said she would never recommend this harness for big dogs, particularly those with a narrower frame like our hound. If you have a smaller dog this will likely be fine, but it's a safety risk for bigger dogs, especially hounds or other slimmer-frame breeds. For reference, the Gentle Leader was recommended instead by our vet as the best solution, though other harness options are out there that also better suit dogs like ours.
The straps on this harness are constantly twisting and turning, making it hard to keep flat on the dog, and to buckle it. The buckles are tiny, and very difficult to push the side buttons to open. It seems to be made well, but those twisting straps are really annoying. It was relatively expensive, so I am not happy with this purchase.
harness looks slick, minimal weight. design is great, little contact with buckles etc. buckles are flipped on either side to easily find and clip correct buckle. soft abdomen strap is great. Metal rings + The mechanism for no pull makes sense but with my dog it does not really work with only the top buckle. It just creates friction against lose hairs. I will have to try the double attachment more Put leash on my desk and my dog went for a 2 min chew. It was almost chewed through. Was able to sew it back. Will be more careful with it and always take it off at dog park. They do have a replacement program for $12-15 that I guess I will have to take advantage of in the future.
I saw this harness and leash combo on a reel on Facebook and Instagram. I was skeptical! I couldn’t stop wondering if it would help my 18 month old puller though. We were scheduled to start obedience classes so I decided to try it out and see if it could possibly help as I was nervous taking him to class. He is a complete gentleman on leash now! Do not hesitate and buy this! I will be honest and say it takes work on both sides for the training and skills we are practicing but this harness and leash make it so much easier and more enjoyable! He is so much more responsive to me and my movements/commands. I truly have enjoyed walking him so much more and he loves his harness and leash combo and knows he is in working mode when the leash is clipped to both front and back. I have received nothing for this review and I am going to order another set for my other golden retriever as well! Thank you 2 Hounds and Chewy for the amazing product that has definitely helped our outings!!!
I thought this pair would work for our American Bulldog cuz she is a puller. I liked the idea of two points of contact with the leash. But, when we hook up both points to the leash, she just pulls. Also, the leash is too short for anyone who is tall-ish. I am 5 ft 7 inches and I was leaning over. Also, the leash handle part is not padded. When we switch out the leash for our 6 ft Max and Neo leash with the padded handle and only hook it up to the front connection on the halter, the halter does great! I would get the halter alone, and not buy it with the leash.
I really love it at the beginning. The leash is well make. I found the harness is nicely make too. However, it break less than two months. Not for big dog.
I’ve had this harness for years and my dog and I love it. A serial puller, the first time he jumped and yanked in this he spun right around. He stopped pulling in less than a week and the length of the leash has meant that he’s much less difficult to control. When we run into squirrels or other things he freaks about I find it easy to adjust where on the leash I’m holding, making it simple to continue the walk. As an added benefit the two different d rings means that securing him in the car is much easier, making him safer and giving me peace of mind. Highly recommend!
Unfortunately this harness began to fray and fall apart after only one use it is still functional but since there are lose strands our dog is bothered by it and attempting to chew at it while on. We had hoped this would last him longer than one use but no longer feel safe having him wear it since we fear it’ll fall apart further and he will get loose
Not the miracle no-pull leash it says it is! bought XS for dog with 17 in chest. Couldn't adjust small enough, even tho according to the chart, that's the right size. It twisted around the chest. Non-effective. Not what it claims to do.
