Transition Instructions

When switching your pet's diet, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to the new product over a 5-7 day period. Replace 15-20% of the current diet with the new product each day until they are fully transitioned. If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of the new product fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals and increase over time. As always, we also recommend checking with your veterinarian for the most accurate feeding recommendations for your pet. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10-14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.

    My cats not a fan : (

    By on

I purchased this due to the price and that it was Plus Care. Having 9 inside rescue cats and 2 outside I need to watch costs at all times. I also thought if my inside kitties didn't like, that the outside ones would-unfortunately not the case. However I have really picky eaters so don't let my rating discourage you from trying. I purchased a smaller bag in order to not waste money should they not be a fan. I just donate to my vet who donates items to people who are poverty stricken and have pets.

Great dry cat food for kitties with urinary issues

    By on

I have two male cats that have suffered from urinary blockages on a seasonal basis. I have been informed by more than one veterinarian that wet food should make up the majority of their intake as there really is not a dry food on the market that compares, even the prescription diets. However, there are occasions when this routine is not practical as I have six cats and occasionally am not home overnight. This food works well for maintaining their unrinary tract health and they gobble it right up. Very affordable too!

    THANK YOU 9LIVES & CHEWY

    By on

My 15 year old female tuxedo cat, Molly has Renal Insufficiency. The vet recommended a very expensive dry food, which I purchased at his office. My cat refused to eat it, even though I left it for a week. I came across a one pound bag of PlusCare while shopping. I read the ingredients & decided to try it. My cat loves it. I have to be careful not to put too much in the bowl, because she will eat it all. NO MORE UTI's or THROWING UP. I didn't know it came in bigger bags. Thank you Chewy for the 12 pound size.

    Seems to work

    By on

My cat had a urinary blockage and ended up in the ER. When he came home I tried several food options to see what my cats would eat and I could afford. This is the most affordable option and they do eat it. My son uses this for his cat that had a similar ER visit. He’s done well on it for years.

    9 Lives Plus Care

    By on

I have a cat who had issues with repeatedly getting UTIs, and my fiancee has a cat who got kidney stones. Our vet recommended a special food for them, and it was expensive. None of the cats would eat it. We found this and decided to try it. All of our cats love this food...and since we switched to this, there's been no more urinary tract issues!! I love Chewy! They always have this in stock while the stores in our area don't keep it in stock always, and the price is very reasonable. The delivery makes it easier for us, being disabled...we don't have to drive to multiple stores trying to find this food!

    Great food

    By on

My 4 of older cats (ages8-10) was on this food for the first 7 years of their life, and never had any problems with UTIs, stones, etc. I switched to a store brand to save money about 3 years ago and it was the worst mistake ever. My 3 year old cat was recently diagnosed with bladder stones and I regret not feeding him this food like I did my older cats. Now all my cats are going back on a mixture of this food and Purina urinary health, saving a few bucks costs me dearly. Never making that mistake again.

    Cats give it five stars

    By on

All my cats and also the feral cats I feed love it & I'm glad they do because it helps maintain urinary tract health, so important for cats! It also supports the immune system, especially important for those sweet ferals out there.

You don't have to spend a fortune to save your cat!

    By on

One of our 5 cats, Sven, had sever bladder problems when he was about 2 years old. Our vet insisted that he only eat the very expensive science stuff food. We are retired and have a farm and could not afford that. So, I found this 9 Lives Plus Care and started feeding all of our 5 cats this food about 6 years ago. Then I found it on Chewy, and life was so much easier with the free deliveries (I buy several bags at a time). All our cats are healthy and happy, especially Sven, our 7-toes-on-each-front-paw polydactyl kitty.
