Great product, but does smell...

I use this substrate to keep my black soldier fly larvae in, and it is really nice. I can sift majority of the substrate out with a typical kitchen sift, and the larvae really like to dig around in it. My only complaint is it does have a grainy wheat smell to it. It smells fine straight from the bag, but after a couple of days with the larvae, the smell gets rancid. It's especially prominent if too much moisture is mixed into the substrate. However, the smell isn't too much of the problem since I house the fly larvae in my basement. I only have to deal with it when I clean their container.
