Instructions
Horse and Livestock: Apply with conventional sprayers or a cloth. Apply a light mist sufficient to wet the surface of the hair. To kill stable flies, horse flies, or deer flies, apply at a rate of 2-4 ounces per adult animal sufficient to wet the hair throughout. Repeat treatment daily or at intervals necessary to give continued protection. To kill face flies, apply with a cloth dampened with the spray. To kill blood sucking lice, apply to the infested areas of the animal. Use a stiff brush to get the spray to the base of the hair. Repeat every 2-3 weeks as required.
Poultry: To control poultry lice and exposed stages of Darkling Beetles, thoroughly spray roots, walls, nests, and cages, followed by spraying the birds with a fine mist.
Dog & Foal:
Surface Spraying - Remove dogs prior to treatment. Thoroughly spray infested areas, pet beds, resting quarters, nearby cracks and crevices, along and behind baseboards, moldings, windows, and door frames and entire areas of floor covering. Fresh bedding should be placed in animal quarters following treatment.
On Dogs or Foals - Start spraying at the tail, moving the dispenser rapidly and making sure the entire animals body is covered including the legs and under body. While spraying, fluff the hair so spray will penetrate to the skin. Do not spray into eyes or face. Avoid contact with eyes and genitalia. Sensitivities may occur after using any pesticide product on pets. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately. Consult a veterinarian before using this product on debilitate, aged, pregnant or nursing animals or animals on medication. During the flea season, retreat weekly if necessary.
Questions & Answers
8 Customer Questions
I am using this in my house is it safe around cats? It doesn’t specifically say.
Answer by • Jun 20, 2021
The Absorbine Flys-X Ready To Use Horse & Livestock Insecticide contains (2) active non-harmful chemicals. Piperonyl butoxide and pyrethrins are actually two of the safest insecticides for mammals and are even safe to use topically in cats if used at an appropriate concentration. Overdosing and ingestion of pyrethrins can certainly still cause signs of toxicity and even inhalation can cause symptoms consistent with asthma in our pets or in people. However, when used appropriately, pyrethrins and piperonyl butoxide are quite safe.
How is it applied

Can I use on my bullmastiffs?
Answer by • Sep 03, 2020
This spray can be used on horses, foals, cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, donkeys, llamas, poultry and dogs.
is it still safe to eat the eggs after using this on poultry?
Answer by • Oct 02, 2021
The rule of thumb is a 7-day time period between applying the spray and using an animal for milk, meat or eggs.
For the price this spray works great. If price goes up then may not be worth it. But is one of my current favorites.

Seems to work great on cow and horses.
I use it on my cow and horses and seems to help a lot. Enough the cow comes to have it sprayed on her to help get rid of the flies. Does not deter deer flies when riding, however. The herbal sprays help more in deterring them.

Just a so-so product
I used this on my chickens as it is safe for poultry. Sprayed directly on flies and it didn’t bother them at all. It might work for others but here in Florida where the bugs seem to be bigger and badder it didn’t seem to deter them. It does help with keeping mosquitoes away but only for a few hours. I will try it again in our “winter” when the bugs aren’t quite as vicious and see if it works. It is really is a great price.

Great product!
This stuff is good for the price. In my opinion, it lasts 3-4 hours (less if you are actively riding and the horse is sweating) definitely recommend this product for stalled horses, use something more sweatproof for riding though.
