Transition Instructions

When switching diets, it’s important to transition your cat or kitten as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5 - 7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA.

Good choice for my 'chunky' cat

By Debbie on Jul 26, 2017

I've been trying to learn about better nutrition for my cats and all roads lead to reduced carbs and more protein. This brand is much higher in protein than most dry foods and my cat loves it. No chicken in this formula and that's another plus, we have a sensitivity to chicken.

    Acana Appalachian Ranch Cat Food

By fatcat on Jul 25, 2017

My cat ate this food heartily for a couple days then only nibbled. To be fair this is mostly a red meat food, My cat loves poultry! I wanted to give him variety but he is holding out. This brand has great ingredients that as a pet parent I feel I am feeding him the best!

ACANA APPALACHIAN RANCH CAT AND KITTEN FOOD

    By momoftwocats on Apr 1, 2017 top250Contributor

twenty percent of my two cats diet is dry and the rest is wet food, mostly instinct, Acana and Orijen made by Champion pet foods are, in my opinion, are the best dry foods available. Best ingredients, cooked at low temperatures to preserve the most nutrients, and the animals used are treated humanely. Check out their website. My two cats Love these foods. My son feeds his two dogs Acana Heritage meats. They both love their Acana. One of them had been having bad ear aches. They had been eating another good brand that was chicken based. Since switching to Acana Heritage the ear aches are gone and they are in great shape. It's ok, but for the money it should be great.

By Puka on Apr 4, 2017

My cat will eat this, but she favors it when I put probiotics on it. I don't know if she is a fickle eater or what, but I will continue to try something new to see if I can find something she eats without tricks.

    Great Food

By Ggerard on Mar 21, 2017

This food is great for cats, not as good as it's parent company Orijen, but less expensive. It would be crazy to buy any other food less than this for cats in my opinion.

    So far so good!

By SanS on Feb 2, 2017

This is our first bag of Acana cat food and so far everyone is loving the taste and no one is throwing it up (always a plus with my cats!). I won't know if it's a keeper until/unless they will eat a second, third, fourth bag of it, etc.. Many foods get eaten here first time around but few get eaten bag after bag so we'll see.I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because they are happily eating it and digesting it well but it still is a novelty to them. I also bought a bag of Wild Atlantic to try next. As long as they like it, I will keep buying it along with whatever other varieties they like.

    Great Product!

    By TheJoker on Jan 30, 2017 top250Contributor

This stuff is the real deal! My kittens have been on it about a week and their coats are so shiny. I have all four formulas and I have to say Wild Pacific might be their favorite! But they love this as well. Give it a try you will see and smell the difference!
