When switching diets, it’s important to transition your dog or puppy as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA.
My GSD and Belgian Malinois love this food. And their stomachs seem to like it as well. My GSD has a plethora of food allergies and this food helps reduce allergy symptoms. Although it is higher in price, it is well worth it.
This was an excellent feed for 25lb. cavachon - a picky eater. It is a shame that this is being discontinued.
My dogs loved all the Acana and Orijen recipes within the range of proteins they could have , however my dogs didn't do well on these brands. It caused their allergies to flare , ear infections , biting their paws etc. , they stopped eating all together. regardless of the proteins used in this brand each diet is full of fish.
My dog was in the the Acana limited ingredient duck kibble, and recently I tried to phase him into this food because I thought he’d really like it. But instead he would pick out the old kibble and leave this kibble still in the bowl. Now that I’ve run out of the old food and his bowl is filled with just this, he refuses to eat day after day, even though I can hear his stomach growling :(
Our two dogs have been eating this product since they were pups. They eat is all and have had no health issues relating to food. Highly recommended b
Pay close attention to the new bag for the “Regional” formulas that used to be sourced entirely in the U.S. It no longer has the word “Regional” on it and the description now says “Made in the USA with some of the WORLD’S finest ingredients”. It’s a shame, and they obviously don’t want us to realize the subtle labeling changes. If they’re not willing to disclose where they’re getting their meats from, it’s likely some of that fantastic budget Chinese meat that shows up in many other foods. Looks like I have to stock up on the old formula locally and start researching for a new food.
Dear Chewy, Thank you for carrying Acana brand. The limited PROPER ingredients were just what we have been searching for. I just absolutely LOVE the Grassland kibble and we are looking forward to the canned dog food...which is coming out soon. My parents are very relieved to know I am only getting ingredients that are best for my health and breed. Sally....the Stumpy Tail Australian Cattle Dog
Tried on two of my dogs. My old dog could not handle it, gave him to loose of stool. Yes, I gave it to him gradually. My other dog did not have that problem and she love it, Not on it long enough to see how it effects her coat.
I thought my dogs would have a bad reaction to the change but they loved it and now I use it as an addition to their Nutrisca they gave been on for 9 years.
My dogs love this! Literally when I brought it inside, they went nuts. I gave them a taste then they would not leave the bag. High quality. Will definitely buy again.
