Disappointed
We decided to try something new for our Golden Retriever and I've heard nothing but good reviews about Acana for a long time. About a month into feeding it, our dog with an iron stomach got gastroenteritis for the first time in the seven years he's been in our home. After a costly vet visit, we treated the episode, but we still didn't make the connection that it could be the food until it happened again - the second time with us being even more cautious about what was entering and exiting our pup, eliminating variables one by one. Suffice to say, it's the food. I think the food looks good on paper but it is just too rich or something isn't sitting right for our boy, after reading more reviews online it seems diarrhea can happen a lot with Acana foods. Definitely disappointed but oh well, I guess we will go back to what we were feeding before.
An acquired taste
Our dogs didn't love love this food at first, but with a little topper, it has become a huge favorite. Our kids will eat it without the topper now. We have been searching for a good non-chicken and non-egg food that our fur babies will love and this seems to be the winner (boy, it has been a crazy, long search). It is way less stinky and fishy than the Orijen one. I also keep it in a semi-air tight container so it doesn't stink the place up.
Yummy for my tummy!
Iris loves this dry food! The kibble is just the right size for a medium sized dog, and while we are only on our first week on it, we have no upset stomachs or loose poops! It is on the more expensive side

No-go for my two dogs
My two dogs are not picky eaters (lab and lab mix) and they would not touch this food. I didn't want to waste the food though so I had to add in a packet of wet food in order for them to eat it. The scent of the food is also an extremely strong fish smell that is off-putting. I will not be purchasing this brand again, which is disappointing because it had so many good reviews.

Not a favorite
Not a favorite for my two dogs, one a picky eater and one who eats most things with enthusiasm. It didn't work with their bellies either unless they had pumpkin with it, even after slowly introducing it.
Miracle Food?! I THINK SO!
WOW! THIS FOOD IS INCREDIBLE! NOT ONLY DOES MY DOG LOVE IT THIS FOOD HAS REMOVED ALL OF HIS DENTAL PLAQUE AND HE NO LONGER HAS LARGE STICKY POOPS! IF YOU CAN AFFORD THIS FOOD PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY! MY DOG NO LONGER SHEDS EVERYWHERE AND HE FINALLY HAS ENERGY! I MYSELF WAS CONCERNED TO CONTINUE TO FEED HIM KIBBLE BUT THIS COMPANY IS INCREDIBLE, PLEASE DO THE RESEARCH IF YOU ARE HESITANT. THEY HAVE BY FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS REGARDING THEIR INGREDIENTS. ALSO, MY DOG WAS ON THE CHICKEN ACANA RECIPE AND HAD NO ISSUES TRANSITIONING FROM ONE RECIPE TO THE OTHER LIKE HE USUALLY DOES, WHICH INCLUDES STOMACH UPSET. TO MY SURPRISE HE HAD NO STOMACH ISSUES! I WILL CONTINUE TO FEED MY BOY THIS FOOD!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH ACANA FOR MAKING AN INCREDIBLE KIBBLE THAT WE CAN TRUST!!!
Canine Diet
Acana is an excellent product. Large dogs require grains! Ingredients are superb...and the dogs love this kibble.
