    Great Dog Training Tool

    By on

I was a little leery before I bought this but it works great! My dog responds well to this, sometimes all I have to do is pick it up and she will stop barking!

    Quick response

Using this for recall. Blew whistle and gave treat only twice before he got the association. Now if he hears the whistle - even when he’s across the park playing with other dogs - he immediately stops and comes bounding over to me. Very pleased.

Not sure if it is working for Chihuahua

    By on

I don't know how to whistle. When dogs run away after squirrel and my partner whistle, they stop and come back. I bought this whistle because I don't know how to whistle myself. The sound of this whistle is very low and if they are far they not hear and not put attention. If they close, I can see they can hear, but just looking at me. So not sure if I bought it for correct purpose. I guess it can be used in order to train dogs to communicate with you.

Not working as a training tool

    By on

I like the color, size, and price of this whistle. However, my dogs don't really pay attention to it. It is a piercing sound which I find annoying, but the dogs ignore it.

    Really Works!

    By on

I have a 100 pound stubborn Rotti that would not stop jumping on people and furniture. I tried everything and nothing worked until I got this Whistle. He immediately responded to it and now all I have to do is show it to him or do a small warning blow with it and he stops whatever he is doing and sits in front of me. I wish I purchased this a long time ago! He is so well behaved now.

My dog does not like the whistle

    By on

My dog just wanted to bark at the whistle or growl at it. I thought that it might work since the more expensive things didn't.

    Divert attention

    By on

The whistle is used in training and to regain attention when the dog gets focused on the wrong thing.

Had opposite effect on 1 of 2.

My lab mix barks at almost anything that passes my door. He goes really crazy at the garbage pickup person, the sweet pit bull across the hall (he never barks), and all knocks. I bought this as an additional training aid in quieting him down. It worked on him, but unfortunately, my usually quiet terrier mix went nuts. So 50/50. Depends on the dog I guess.

    Dog whistle

    By on

It is loud, but my older dog does not like it. If I'm using it on the puppies he will not walk with me. He stops

    Training aide

    By on

I bought this for our Lab, we are training her to retrieve. I think the whistle is fine, but my spouse thinks it isn’t loud enough. I’m not really sure I understand that, considering Gracie hears it just fine. If you want something lightweight, this is a good buy. However, if you are looking for something more durable, I’d go with a metal whistle.
