I will say that she opted to growl once rather than bark so thats an improvement. I was willing to pay the $20 per month to rectify the issue but im not sure. … more

    Didn't Work

By kjlimo on Dec 23, 2017

This didn't work for either of my dogs. They are small dogs and I put it in the room they are in most. I noticed no change. I even bought a refill and did it for 2 months, just in case it takes time or something. I'm not sure if I should buy a spray version and use more of it or just forget about This didn't work for either of my dogs. They are small dogs and I put it in the room they are in most. • So far, so good

I've only had this for a while so it wouldn't be fair to give a hard review on this yet. So far my dog does still pee all over the house. However, I know the cat version did wonders for my cats. Their fighting dwindled down significantly and my cat no longer sprays urine anywhere, even despite my dog marking. I paired this with the potty bells and the belly bands so I'm hoping we can break his marking habits in about two months of using this product.

  • Seems to work

We have a lab/ great dane mix that is really high energy and has anxiety. This isn't a miracle by any means but seems to have helped him calm down some. It won't cause a huge personality change but will help your dog calm down some.

  • Seems to be working!

We rescued our chihuahua five years ago. He is a marker. After our retirement earlier this year, his marking worsened. We resorted to male bands. Adaptil was recommended to us. We have used it for about two weeks and have noticed a significant decrease in need for the male bands.

After anxiety for 3 months over moving into a new house, adaptil was recommended. We've been using it for about a week and I see at least a 60% Improvement in the level of anxiety.

  • Seemed to work

I have an extremely anxious rescue chihuahua, and my nephew was staying with us. She is terrified of men, and was hiding under the bed all day. Not sure if it wasn't a coincidence, but shortly after getting his diffuser, she improved a lot and even lets him pet her.

I luv chewy.com. jack doesn't stay out of bacon stripes too long. He waits for his package.

  • Helped Immensely

We adopted a 9 month old lab mix who was having some separation anxiety (barking and urinating in crate) when we would leave. She would be in there for no more than 1-3 hours at a time, but nothing seemed to help. We got the Adaptil spray to use directly on her crate bedding in conjunction this electric diffuser. What a difference! She is more relaxed and sleeps most of the time. When she is awake, she is just looking around or playing with her bone. No barking. Chewy has the best price around! Highly recommend.

  • In my opinion, this is a great product to calm fearful dogs.

We have a greyhound who is generally happy and loving, but there are a few things that really terrify her. We think these are related to bad experiences when she was racing at the track, but will never know. I first got the DAP spray in a bottle and sprayed it on her collar, but the diffuser allows me to plug it in near her crate and she gets its benefit when she goes to her "safe space" when she is frightened, and during the night when she is sleeping. I also take it along when she goes to the kennel. It does not eliminate her trembling, panting, etc., but it does reduce its intensity and duration. Its scent is not detectable to humans--at least to us.

My spouse recently passed and my Pom used to be at home with him all day, every day. Now I have to be gone to work all day and she has become very anxious and clingy. I was reluctant to use any medications to calm her. My vet recommended trying Adaptil. We are not quite into the first 30 days and I have noticed a great difference. She is much calmer! I have also noticed less aggression towards other dogs!
