Adaptil calming collars contain Canine appeasing pheromone analog (2%) and Isoparaffanic Hydrocarbon. The pheromone released in Adaptil is a proprietary synthetic copy of the pheromone secreted by a mother dog after birth to provide reassurance to her puppies.
Can this collar be worn in addition to another collar with tags?

Can you trim the collar to fit?

After choosing the size that best fits your dog, the collar should be fitted around your dogs neck and any excess should be trimmed.

Worth trying

I think how effective you find it depends on what you are looking for. We took in a nervous stray. When something big or new is happening he is definitely still nervous it does not stop those reactions. BUT in the day to day he is much happier and relaxed. My husband and I both noticed the difference in a week. More tail wags, more playing with the other dogs, and he just seems more content to lay down and relax. He also had less accidents/marking inside which is something I was hoping it would help with but was not too optimistic about. Just repurchased.

Huge Difference

I was very skeptical about this at first. I ordered it anyway because I have tried multiple meds and other non medication means to try and reduce one of my dog’s anxiety. She is still anxious but does not shake anymore at every loud sound or new thing. She is a lot more playful and energetic. This has worked wonders, going on 3 weeks. I am still shocked. Deff. worth the money every month.

Thank God for this collar!!

My 10 year old collie has horrific anxiety all his life. I can write a book on all the incidents. this is happening now in our new home he paced all night. cried at our bedroom door to let him in. Let him in and he paced on the bed. Put him out of the bedroom and he walks the hallways, up and down stairs. cries and whines all night. took him to our vacation home thinking he knew that place and he did the same thing. We tried everything and could not take it anymore we had no sleep staying up with him. This has been months with this type of episode.The very last resort was this collar. I had no expectations or hope thought it was a waste of money. We put it on him on the first night he slept through the entire night and did not cry, did not whine, did not go up and down the steps did not stick his nose under our head to wake us up constantly and jump on the bed and stopped pacing. Hallelujah. This collar is a blessing. Will it work for everyone? no nothing ever does. But I can tell you with all certainty thank you so much for this collar.

impossible to get on

If you can get the collar on, it does seem to help, but getting it on is the problem and I'm finally giving up and will find some other product. It is impossible to slide one end through the other. If there's an easy way to do it, I haven't found it.

Nondeterminable Collar

The quality of this dog collar is low. It is difficult to put on and take off the dog (made of cheap plastic) it was uncomfortable for my dog to wear for even a few days because it had to be tight enough on the dogs neck to warm it up. There is no way to tell if the "calming hormones" are released at acceptable quantities to help calm my pup. It is a total waste of money and the product needs to be udated or removed.

Not effective

Unfortunately this calming collar didn't seem to calm my dog at all. However, it might work for yours. My dog is 15 yrs old and experiencing separation anxiety for the first time. I haven't found anything yet that is completely effective, even a prescription mild sedative. Maybe he just needs more time to adapt to our new home....

Calmed My Fur Baby

Best product for a dog that has high anxiety. My 3 yr old GSD has suffered from high anxiety since being attacked by another dog when he was 2. Our dog behaviorist recommend this product and his vet recommended a natural supplement to accompany with both my 3 yr old GSD is now a calm happy boy. Thank you Adaptil for creating this product.

Disappointed in collar

Used the adaption spray for travel with good success Puppy had surgery, had to wear the plastic collar so we were happy to try the Adaptil collar to help keep her calm We have not seen any difference in her activity level

It Works Great!

Our dog suffers from anxiety and is very protective (she was a work dog from the streets of Mexico). The vet recommended this collar and it works great! She is still protective but also very mellow.

Adaptil Worked Great

This collar worked great for my 8-year-old Vizsla who had a history of marking in the house. It definitely calmed his anxiety, even when around a female in heat. He has not marked in the house once since I bought this collar 30 days ago, which my vet recommended. Cannot address whether it helps other behavioral problems but it definitely works for my Vizsla.
