Instructions

For Dogs

Cover animal's eyes with a hand. Do not spray directly on mouth, nose, or eyes. Spray head, ears, and chest until damp. With fingertips, rub into face and around mouth, nose, and eyes. Then spray from neck to tail, finishing legs last. For best penetration of spray to skin and on heavy-coated animals, direct spray against the natural lay of the hair, spraying the ruffled hair directly behind your hand. Make sure the spray thoroughly wets ticks. When used on miniature or toy breeds of dogs, towel-dry the animal after ½ hour if not totally dry. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 7 days (1 week).

For Puppies Over 6 Months

Wrap the animal in a towel that has been sprayed lightly with this product. Leave eyes, nose, and mouth exposed. Put some spray on the finger and gently rub around eyes, nose, and mouth area. Keep animal wrapped for 5-10 minutes. Fleas may then be removed from the coat by picking or combing. For best results, all dogs should be treated with a similar flea control product such as Advantage Treatment Spray for Dogs to prevent reinfestation. Do not spray directly on puppies. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 14 days (2 weeks).

    Kills fleas on contact

    By on

Living in the south and especially so close to the woods ticks and fleas are always a battle...Decided I would give this one a try and I have to say it does really good...I don't expect it to keep every flea off of them but it does help to keep them managed and I think once we get the yard sprayed it will keep them pretty much flea and tick free

    Awesome spray

Kills fleas ON CONTACT! You can also spray furniture with it too. Fleas were bad this year and my dogs had already been treated but the fleas were hitching a quick ride on them into the house and then jumping on my untreated indoor only cats. I ordered this spray mainly to spray on the furniture plus as a quick spot treatment for the dogs. I had to put spot treatments on the cats, too. What finally got rid of the fleas was treating the yard. This spray is ultra fast working. The fleas literally drop off of the dogs. Love this!! Its my go to quick fix until I get the K9 Advantix drops.

Kill most of the fleas but they were reinfected almost immediately! I have been giving stuff to repel and kill nothing is workibg! I assumed a big name brand would do better.

    Does Not Work

    By on

I soaked my dog in this spray. First of all make sure to only use outside. This spray is so strong it will take your breath. It's also supposed to work for up to 100 days. Within 2 days my dog had fleas again.

Fast, but fleeting, way to temporarily flush out fleas

    By on Top 100 Contributor

This spray is easy to apply and dries quickly but has quite a harsh smell so is best used outside or in a very well ventilated space (I'm a bit wary about using it at all, but we're getting desperate about the flea situation). The product starts working immediately to flush fleas out of hiding, but they tend to jump off onto the bed or wherever our dogs take refuge to dry/sulk and I haven't "seen" any die from it so a flea comb is handy to catch and kill them at this point (obviously I mean the fleas, not our dogs!). Our three shorthair dachshunds hate the hiss spray and application process. The pyrethrin smell lingers on their coats for a day or so. The product definitely helps but doesn't seem to repel fleas from our boys or last a full week. One day after spraying, we still find and pull off live fleas. We use this Advantage spray weekly in conjunction with Virbac knockout house spray, a daily flea comb, monthly prescription of Sentinel Spectrum, and nitenpyrem (Capstar/Capguard) tablets as needed. I'm doubting any product can beat the fleas here in TX. The monthly topical treatments don't work for us either. Roll on winter! … more
