About This Item
- Veterinarian-recommended treatment kills all life stages of fleas on kittens and cats 8 weeks or older and weighing over 9 pounds.
- Begins working within 12 hours to kill fleas on contact.
- Kills eggs, larvae and adult fleas to break the life-cycle and help prevent re-infestation.
- Waterproof formula continues working for up to four weeks, even after bathing.
- Convenient, monthly topical application contains imidacloprid and pyriproxyfen; available in packs of 2, 4 or 6 treatments.
Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

used advantage before and wasn't happy with it. But was told it was better now. Wrong. My 3 INDOOR cats show fleas within 2 weeks of use. I have shampooed and deep cleaned everything and don't believe I have any eggs hiding. I have an indoor outdoor dog that is on Vectra and she doesn't have fleas. (vet checked). I will switch to Vectra for my cats too.
Does not kill fleas
I have bought this Advantage II for the last time. Have used it several times and it just does not work. It is a total waste of money. Very expensive for the small drop of treatment in a tube and then for it not to work.
Still have fleas
I have put this on my cat for 2 doses and I still have fleas in the house. They are not as bad as they were a few weeks ago but I have also had to get a flea spray for the carpets to try to get them under control. Ugh!
Flea Treatment for Adult Cats
I have been using Advantage II on my two cats for 15 years. I am happy to say there has never been a flea found in my house. My cats are thrilled I know to not have to scratch all the time. I will use this product as long as I own cats.
Not long lasting
This has worked very well from the time of application until about two weeks. It says it lasts for up to a month which is misleading if you plan on purchasing once a month. It actually lasts for up to two weeks. Very disappointed and will be trying something else that lasts longer.
it worked for me
I have a senior cat and she has always had sensitive skin. I have used other top of the line flea drops but in the end would irritate her skin. I decided to try this one mainly because it was just for fleas, the other drops would kill ticks and lice etc and Maybe the chemicals where just to harsh. Well she is a inside cat, and I don’t live in tick country so I just wanted flea control. Well I applied it, put a white cloth down in her bed, the next day there was a lot of dead fleas and she’s not having a bad reaction. Win win for me and her.
I was buying a cheaper flea med that sent my male cat crazy for at least 45 minutes. I switched to Advantage and he hardly reacted at all. Yet it is working to rid both of my cats from fleas - yay!!
kk outdoor cat
Easy to apply. Found that didn't absorb quickly. Sat on fur for several days even though applied to skin. Found engorged tick on neck several week after application.
I’ve been using Advantage II since it first was introduced & recommended by our vet. The fur kids don’t like having it applied and will be avoiding me for a few days after, but we all like the results - ie NO fleas.
Flea control without a vet visit
Advantage still works for us. Saved us an expensive trip to the vet for a prescription for the latest flea-resistant formulation. Chewy is efficient in quick delivery as usual
