Important Information
Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

How does Advantage II for dogs work?
Advantage II for dogs combines two active ingredients:
- Imidacloprid attacks the flea's nervous system - paralyzing and ultimately killing it.
- Pyriproxyfen is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that kills flea eggs and larvae.
This combination plays a crucial role in treating and preventing infestations, because:
- In an existing infestation, you might only be aware of the adult fleas, which only represent around 5% of the full infestation and are found on the pet.
- Immature flea life stages which live in the pet's environment consist of around 95% of the infestation and can be almost invisible to the naked eye.
What is the difference between Advantage II for dogs and oral flea products?
Advantage II flea prevention is applied to your dog topically, spreading over the skin and hair. It kills fleas through contact, so fleas do not have to bite your dog to die. With oral flea medications, fleas have to bite your dog and ingest the medication before they are killed.
How long does Advantage II for dogs last?
A single application of Advantage II for dogs stops biting fleas for one month. However, if the dog has a severe infestation, retreatment within a month may be necessary. See product label for additional information.
How often can you use Advantage II for dogs?
Use Advantage II for dogs monthly, year-round to help keep your pet protected from fleas. Follow label directions for application.
How old does my dog have to be to use Advantage II for dogs?
You can use Advantage II for dogs on puppies and dogs 7 weeks of age and older.
Can I split tubes of Advantage II between my dogs?
No, you cannot split tubes of Advantage II for dogs between multiple dogs. To successfully prevent and control fleas, dogs must be treated with their own dose of Advantage II. Follow label directions for application.
Does Advantage II for dogs kill ticks?
Advantage II for dogs does not kill ticks but it does provide multi-stage flea control, effectively breaking flea life-cycle stages for lasting control of flea populations. It also treats, prevents and controls lice infestations on dogs.
How long does Advantage II for dogs take to work?
Advantage II for dogs kills fleas on dogs within 12 hours of application.
Can I touch my dog after applying Advantage II for dogs?

I Use it for my cats! Super money saver!!
By Holly on Nov 8, 2020
This is the only product that has completely protected my cats from fleas and ticks. Yes, I said cats! We have 7 abs the cost of flea meds have been horrible. So I researched and this large dog formula is the same as the formula for cats except you get a lot more liquid for a similar price. Cats 3-9 pounds only need 3 ml. Each tube has 4 ounces of liquid. There are 29ml per ounce. So each tube has 116ml. An average car needs 3ml. So 116/3=38. There are 38 doses in each tube. There are 6 tubes. 6x38=228 (3ml) doses. I can treat all of my 7 cats for over a year with one order of advantage 2 for large dogs. My math could be a little off so don’t scold me. But I 100% know that I am saving hundreds This is the only product that has completely protected my cats from fleas and ticks. Yes, I said cats! Second kind of flea drops I have purchased from chewy, these didn't help any more than the frontline flea drops I purchased. Poor dogs are still miserable.

Stop looking!..... If you're looking for this specific product..... You already know you want it..... so stop looking because this is the best price you're going to find..... It will be shipped fast..... and will also be the actual product you're expecting to receive..... And for the record..... This is the best flea product on the market for both digs and cats..... Any existing fleas will be dead in less than 24 hours..... probably closer to 12 hours..... and it will have a residual effect for 30 days..... Actually longer but if you use 30 days as a benchmark you'll always be safe..... Then using the applicator you just emptied..... rub the area in a small circle about an inch or so in diameter to insure the liquid is making good contact and not running to either side of your pet's neck..... The fur at the application spot will appear to be very wet which is good..... and the liquid will spread its active ingredient over your pet's body over the course of the next few hours..... Hope this helps. … more

Only one that works for fleas
By Rae507 on Oct 2, 2020 Top 500 Contributor
We use this with shelter guidelines for cats, under strict supervision of our veterinarian. The price is of course wonderful, but more importantly, it is the last of the topicals that actually kills fleas for us. I do hate how runny it is and the smell, but it's worth it for flea free furbabies!

This stuff does not work.
By Sharon on Aug 1, 2020
So I thought something was wrong with my dog and cat since they started itching really bad - didn't think it was fleas cause I use Advantage for my animals. Well my dogs and cat have fleas - I always flea bomb the house in the Spring and put advantage on my animals. Very disappointed in this product - especially the cost and it didn't work.

By Melissa on Sep 26, 2020
This product works great only not every tube was full. The first 4 tubes had the right amount in them. The last 2 tubes in the box were half empty or more.
