Important Information
Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

- Hold applicator tube in an upright position facing away from you and your pet’s face and eyes. Pull cap off tube.

- Twist cap to break seal, then remove cap from tube.
- Part the hair on the neck at the base of the skull until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze the tube to expel the entire contents directly on the skin. Treatment at the base of the skull will minimize the opportunity for the cat to lick the product. Do not allow the product to run off.
- Discard empty tube.
- Under normal conditions this product is effective for a month. However, in cases of severe flea infestation, retreatment may be necessary earlier than 4 weeks. Do not retreat more often than once every 14 days for kittens or once every 7 days for small and large cats. After flea control is attained, return to a monthly retreatment schedule.

How does Advantage II for cats work?
Advantage II for cats combines two active ingredients:
- Imidacloprid attacks the flea's nervous system - paralyzing and ultimately killing it.
- Pyriproxyfen is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that kills flea eggs and larvae.
This combination plays a crucial role in treating and preventing infestations, because:
- In an existing infestation, you might only be aware of the adult fleas, which only represent around 5% of the full infestation and are found on the pet.
- Immature flea life stages which live in the pet's environment consist of around 95% of the infestation and can be almost invisible to the naked eye.
What is the difference between Advantage II for cats and oral flea products?
Advantage II flea prevention is applied to your cat topically, spreading over the skin and hair. It kills fleas through contact, so fleas do not have to bite your cat to die. With oral flea medications, fleas have to bite your cat and ingest the medication before they are killed.
How long does Advantage II for cats last?
A single application of Advantage II for cats stops biting fleas for one month. However, if the cat has a severe infestation, retreatment within a month may be necessary. See product label for additional information.
How often can you use Advantage II for cats?
Use Advantage II for cats monthly, year-round to help keep your pet protected from fleas. Even indoor cats need protection against fleas because you or other pets in the household may bring fleas into the home. Fleas in your cat's environment can re-infest your cat.
How old does my cat have to be to use Advantage II?
You can use Advantage II for cats on kittens and cats 8 weeks of age and older.
Does Advantage II for cats expire?
There is no expiration date required on the packaging by the EPA for Advantage II for cats. We recommend the product should be kept in its original packaging and stored as directed on the label.
Does Advantage II for cats kill ticks?
Advantage II for cats does not kill ticks, but it does effectively break the flea life cycle by killing flea eggs, larvae and adults to help prevent infestation on your pet.
How long does Advantage II for cats take to work?
Advantage II for cats kills fleas within 12 hours of application.
Can I touch my cat after applying Advantage II for cats?
Do not have contact or allow children to have contact with the area treated with Advantage II for cats until completely dry.

The first active ingredient kills adult fleas by targeting their nervous system, while the second works as an insect growth regulator that kills flea eggs and larvae.

Friggen Amazing Product
By Katie on Feb 18, 2021
A couple of months ago I picked up a kitten on the side of the road and treated her with baths right away and quarantined her until I was sure that she was clean of them.... Well she wasn’t. I have four cats (I gave this kitten to a good home and warned her she may have fleas) and they were infested pretty bad. Money was an issue. I used several cheaply treatments that didn’t help at all!!! I was leery about using this because it was pretty decently priced. The reviews were awesome though so I gave it a shot. I was able to get all four cats treated and within days I noticed the difference. I automatically ordered another round for next month but I just checked and they look great!!! By Fleagone on Feb 24, 2021
One of my cats is allergic to fleas and was losing her hair it was awful for her, once we put the advantage on her within a week her hair was starting to grow back. It was wonderful. I can’t believe we had this many fleas so early in the year but we were able to take care of them easily with the advantage.

Flea Control That Works
By Control on Feb 7, 2021
My kitty is an indoor cat and my daughter thought it would be fun to let her roam the neighborhood for a few days. She came back with fleas. The Revolution we have been using on her became ineffective for flea control due to fleas becoming resistant to it in our area. We bought this and within 2 days I could find no more fleas. We will keep using this as long as the fleas she brought in persist in the house.

Emergency pet clinic suspected my older cat had mites - excessive itching , hair loss in suspect areas . The vet recommended a flea treatment . I wanted to try a formula for smaller cats . This was it ! My Kitty tolerated this treatment well- I followed instructions exactly . My cat is much improved . Box comes with 2 treatments included . One treatment recommended a month if needed . Pleased with this product .

works great!!
By Tori on Jan 26, 2021
This product works great!! For both cats and dogs! I see a lot of negative reviews but let me tell you.. im a pet groomer and you can’t just apply this to an animal that is infested with fleas and think it’s going to work. You first have to kill every single flea that is on the animal first with a good flea bath. You also have to treat your house and yard then apply this to your pet to PREVENT them from getting fleas!

Product wasn't too effective.
By Susie on Jan 13, 2021
Product wasn't too effective. It lasted what appeared to be about a week and then the cats were digging all over again. I treated all my floors, baseboards, furniture and curtains. Washed and sprayed all bedding and it didn't seem to help. A lot of money, time and energy to have to start all over again. Not to satisfied. Maybe will work for you but didn't do so good for me. It did however, work 85% better than Frontline!

Cat Flea & Tick Treatment
By Kris on Feb 16, 2021
I've been using this stuff on my cats (7 cats in 30 years) since my Vet first told me about it. It's easy to apply and works great here in Florida. I use it 12 months a year to be sure my cats are always flea free.

flea and tick
By litter on Jan 7, 2021
I have 5 cats and of course all 5 have fleas that I have been trying to get rid of for months now. My vet recommended this to me and it has now been over a week since the first application and they still have a flea or two still there so maybe when it’s time for another dose it’ll knock them all out ? I feel like I am never going to get rid of the fleas.

Better than Frontline, cheaper than Revolution
By Twizzler on Dec 3, 2020
We recently adopted a kitten who was infested with fleas and got back on having flea treatments for all our kitties to be safe. After doing some research, we found this to be the best option for the price. Fleas are always becoming resistant to the different chemicals they put in these products, which is why I would go with this over frontline (many fleas are beginning to be resistant to that chemical). My only gripe with this product is that I don't think it is as safe as frontline. We had a scare where one of our cats accidentally licked this, so make sure to monitor them super closely. I do with it was a bit cheaper but you get what you pay for with these kinds of things!

Doesn't appear to be working
By Vito on Feb 16, 2021
I've applied the product exactly as explained in description about a week ago, my cat is a bit less than 8 lbs, she doesn't seem to have any skin allergies but she keeps scratching.
