  • Using scissors, cut the pouch across the top and remove tube.

How to apply:

  • Remove one applicator tube from the package.
  • Hold applicator tube in an upright position facing away from you and your pet‘s face and eyes. Pull cap off tube.
  • Turn the cap around and place other end of cap back on tube.
  • Twist cap to break seal, then remove cap from tube.
  • The dogs should be standing for easy application. Apply the entire contents of the tube evenly on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail. At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and gently squeeze to expel a portion of the solution on the skin. • Discard empty tube.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Advantage Topical Solution and Advantage II?

We have added an insect growth regulator, pyriproxyfen, to Advantage II.

What is an insect growth regulator (IGR)?

An IGR, such as pyriproxyfen, inhibits the development of flea eggs. It also offers additional larvicidal properties when compared with imidacloprid alone.

How does pyriproxyfen work?

Pyriproxyfen mimics the juvenile growth hormone of fleas. This hormone prevents immature flea stages from molting into the next stage of the life cycle and keeps them from developing into adult fleas.

Why is it important to use a product with an IGR?

With an IGR as part of your flea control, the flea life cycle is disrupted at multiple stages through different active ingredients and modes of action. This is often referred to as integrated flea control (IFC). The addition of an IGR to Advantage II adds larvicidal and ovicidal properties to target flea infestations and kill all flea life stages.

Is Advantage II waterproof?

Yes, there is no need to reapply the product after weekly swimming or a bath. For best results, use a non-detergent shampoo.

  • finally rid of fleas

    By on

We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. One is an outdoor cat so we assumed that he was bringing in the fleas. Everyone was treated with Frontline which had always worked in the past. When I heard from friends that they too had a flea infestation and that Frontline was no longer working, I looked online and read similar situations. We tried Advantage II and in 2 days our fleas were gone. Of course we had vacuumed and flea powdered the whole house and washed eveything numerous times as well. But the fleas were still showing up on our pets until we used Advantage. Highly recommend.

  • Greatest flea product

I have my son's 12 year old dog. In the past my son has had trouble getting rid of the fleas and nothing would work for me, even a product from the vet. This product did exactly what it said it would. Such a huge relief. I am getting the cat version even though I think the few fleas they might have had have jumped onto him (the favorite host) and died. Thanks for making our household more sane.

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

previously used parastar plus, and it did NOTHING to prevent fleas. this medicine helped knock out the infestation, with little side effects. our 4yr old frenchie is very sensitive, he had a little dryness at site of medicine, but no lethargy, nothing else. Will have to find a tick medicine, as well. great product!!

  • Flea apocalypse!

    By on

Front line plus stopped killing our pets fleas this year. So we ended up with a plague of them by August. I switched to Advantage II, sprayed the house, again, and my cats and dogs are finally clear of the fleas. When your flea treatment no longer kills the fleas because they have become immune to it, switch to a different product. Advantage did the job!

  • Fleas are gone!

    By on

We had previously used Frontline on our dogs and noticed that they continually had fleas. We live out in the country and treating our 6 acre yard isn't feasible. We rely on topical treatments and they weren't working anymore. They even shared their fleas with our indoor cats (not cool). I was at my wits end and the poor dogs were miserable. After reading other reviews on this product I decided to give it a try as I didn't have anything to lose. I gave the dogs a bath and as soon as they were dry I applied the Advantage II as directed. Within 30 minutes I was literally watching fleas come off their body and die - it was amazing! My mixed pup, about 60 lbs, often felt bad after being administered Frontline. I got Advantage II for dogs up to 55 lbs, and the fleas are gone and no feeling bad. Yay!

This product is not keeping fleas off my dog. The house and yard has been treated. The house has twice been treated. I have two indoor older cats with no fleas. So, I paid to have the yard treated. But, my dog goes out and comes in with fleas. I have bathed her now, 7 times. treated her and put on a homemade remedy, made with apple cider vinegar. She comes in with fleas. I have spend more than I can afford for treatments. My son, I live with says the dog must go. I've had her from a pup, five years now. I just cannot figure out why these fleas come inside with her. I use a flea comb and dish soap in water to keep combing her. I am on a fixed, senior income. • For new puppy

I bought this for my Rottweiler puppy. I found if you can stop them from moving it works fine. At 14 weeks she is already 35 pounds so next time I will get help. This is one product you can use on a puppy before six months.

  • Product Work But Shipping/Packaging Issue

    By on

I love this product for my dog. He has extreme allergies to just about everything -- including the new seresto collars. I have always had great service from chewy, but I recently opened one of the cellophane packages that individual tubes of Advantage are kept in and the tube had somehow leaked. Unfortunately, it's the last tube in a package and probably a company defect from Advantage. Even with Chewy's great prices it is still like $10 a tube and a little frustrating. Overall though this seems to be a random glitch and the formula does what it says it will.
