  • Using scissors, cut the pouch across the top and remove tube.

How to apply:

  • Remove one applicator tube from the package.
  • Hold applicator tube in an upright position facing away from you and your pet‘s face and eyes. Pull cap off tube.
  • Turn the cap around and place other end of cap back on tube.
  • Twist cap to break seal, then remove cap from tube.
  • The dogs should be standing for easy application. Apply the entire contents of the tube evenly on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail. At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and gently squeeze to expel a portion of the solution on the skin. • Discard empty tube.
  • Under normal conditions the product is effective for a month. However, in case of severe flea infestation, retreatment may be necessary earlier than 4 weeks. Do not retreat more often than once every 7 days. After flea control is attained, return to a monthly retreatment schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Advantage Topical Solution and Advantage II?

We have added an insect growth regulator, pyriproxyfen, to Advantage II.

What is an insect growth regulator (IGR)?

An IGR, such as pyriproxyfen, inhibits the development of flea eggs. It also offers additional larvicidal properties when compared with imidacloprid alone.

How does pyriproxyfen work?

Pyriproxyfen mimics the juvenile growth hormone of fleas. This hormone prevents immature flea stages from molting into the next stage of the life cycle and keeps them from developing into adult fleas.

Why is it important to use a product with an IGR?

With an IGR as part of your flea control, the flea life cycle is disrupted at multiple stages through different active ingredients and modes of action. This is often referred to as integrated flea control (IFC). The addition of an IGR to Advantage II adds larvicidal and ovicidal properties to target flea infestations and kill all flea life stages.

Is Advantage II waterproof?

Yes, there is no need to reapply the product after weekly swimming or a bath. For best results, use a non-detergent shampoo.

Did not seem to work I purchased this after being disappointed by sentry and frontline products I asked the vet and he said andvantage but the advantage II must not be the same as the perscription treatment given at the vet . Next year I am giving up on the over the counters and only doing the vet prescription meds . Live and learn but really tired of dealing with fleas when we treat monthly with expensive medications/

  • Does the trick

Chewy's exceptional service had this product on my doorstep within 28 hours ! Unfortunately sometimes the only thing that will kill fleas is a chemical . This product has been around for many many years and as such is in my opinion a safer choice than a lot of the new topical or ingestible treatments.

I've tried multiple lower priced flea treatments to save money. I always end up coming back to Advantage! It works every time. I now know to just go with this one the first time.

  • Fleas are gone!

    By on

We had previously used Frontline on our dogs and noticed that they continually had fleas. We live out in the country and treating our 6 acre yard isn't feasible. We rely on topical treatments and they weren't working anymore. They even shared their fleas with our indoor cats (not cool). I was at my wits end and the poor dogs were miserable. After reading other reviews on this product I decided to give it a try as I didn't have anything to lose. I gave the dogs a bath and as soon as they were dry I applied the Advantage II as directed. Within 30 minutes I was literally watching fleas come off their body and die - it was amazing! • prefer ADVANTAGE to other brands

    By on

After 20+ years of owning dogs and fostering dogs, I have used several brands. I settled with ADVANTAGE because it's in a easy open tube. Most brands work once administered. The difference is the ease of open. It's an expensive, toxic liquid that you cannot afford spilling or getting on hands or into eye. I am done with those hard-to-open "snap" containers.

I won't be ordering these again. They didn't seem to have enough medicine in them for each pup.
