Instructions

For Cats

Cover animal's eyes with a hand. Do not spray directly on mouth, nose, or eyes. Spray head, ears, and chest until damp. With fingertips, rub into face and around mouth, nose, and eyes. Then spray from neck to tail, finishing legs last. For best penetration of spray to skin and on heavy-coated animals, direct spray against the natural lay of the hair, spraying the ruffled hair directly behind your hand. Make sure the spray thoroughly wets ticks. When used on cats, towel-dry the animal after ½ hour if not totally dry. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 7 days (1 week).

For Kittens Over 7 Months

Wrap the animal in a towel that has been sprayed lightly with this product. Leave eyes, nose, and mouth exposed. Put some spray on the finger and gently rub around eyes, nose, and mouth area. Keep animal wrapped for 5-10 minutes. Fleas may then be removed from the coat by picking or combing. For best results, all cats should be treated with a similar flea control product such as Advantage Treatment Spray for Cats to prevent reinfestation. Do not spray directly on kittens. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 14 days (2 weeks).

I have used this product for 3 years and I loved it. However since its now in an aerosol can and no longer in a spray bottle it seems to have lost it's potency and you need to use more to do the job and you end up going through the can very fast. This had been the same even when bought other places than Chewy as well. Disappointed in Bayer for changing the product.

  • Smells Horrible

    By on

This stuff smelled very strongly like rubbing alcohol which made it hard for me to want to use it. I had to spray it before leaving the house so I wouldn't have to sit with the smell. I used this in conjunction with a spot treatment for my cats who have fleas but saw no difference. I can't say whether this works or not but I would not try it again.

  • Works Great If Applied Properly!

So many people think that if you spray your cat the fleas disappear. That's true and false. You have to really spray they neck and shoulders, basically the same place as you would apply the topical flea Med's. Fleas next around warm spots: tail, neck (especially if your cat wears a collar) and on kitties cheeks so make sure that these are the areas to really apply it. It's like a human having poison ivy- not fun and it only gets worse if not treated. Try it! For the cost isn't it worth at last that? … more

  • This Stuff Works!

    By on

For Instant Flea Relief This Is Fantastic. Works Faster Than Any Shampoo or Squeeze On. I Suggest Following Instructions & Then Wrapping Your Pet In a Towel. My Cats That Were Sensitive To The Squeeze On Were Far Less Sensitive To This. I Also Suggest Spraying Bedding Etc.

  • I didn’t like it

I was really disappointed with this flea spray. Having worked in a veterinary clinic I know what brands are good but this spray only lasted about a week and the fleas were back. I was really disappointed and I probably won’t buy it again

  • SAFE FOR CATS

    By on

I was very happy to find this item because it's hard to find flea sprays in stores that are safe for cats. Be careful what you buy, becauses most flea sprays are made for dogs only. Never assume that just any flea spray is safe for your cat's bedding or items they sit on! Remember, cats clean themselves by licking their fur. Advantage II is safe for both dogs and cats, and please...never confuse Advantage II with any other similar sounding product. Advantage II is the only flea spray I've found on the market to be safe for cats.

We have been using flea control since Spring. Not sure if I can really give this product a repeat in usage. My purchase came in a aerosol can not a pump as shown here.
