When transitioning to Against the Grain 100% Nothing Else foods, do so slowly over a period of about 5-7 days, mixing an increasing amount of new food with old food each day: Start with 75% old food mixed with 25% new food for approximately three days. Then mix 50% old with 50% new for approximately three days. You can also pour the natural broth over the original food at any ratio to enhance mealtime.
Glad I read the reviews in advance of purchasing this food. It definitely has ALOT of liquid, albeit bone broth. Makes it very messy to portion, etc. My dogs seem to like it. I mix it with high-grade dry food and powdered supplements to round out the nutrition level. Again, no refusal by either of my dogs, one of which can be rather picky.
This food is fantastic!

This was the only food I could find without carbohydrates (sugar), plus it is affordable for a wet diet. I feed it to my cat with an added cat vitamin mix. She eats half a can per day. She loves it.
Yes, you can see fat inside. That is because there aren't any added emulsifiers unlike in other foods. And yes, there is a lot of liquid inside (which is good for cats), but there is also plenty of meat. Mix it before serving.
Please keep on making this food. I don't want my cat to become overweight from feeding her carbohydrates, salt, and all the other additives that seem to be in nearly every other cat food.
STINKY - but he LOVES it!

STINKY - but he LOVES it! I have a almost 8 yr old SUPER picky rescue dog, he is 80lbs, Lab/GSD mix. He scarfs this food down, yes, the contents is often inconsistent, as far as the size of the contents, sometimes one can appears to have more than another. Most of the cans have a LOT of bone broth, so much so that I pour half into a small container that I refrigerate and heat up at dinner time and pour over his kibbles to entice him to eat it (because it is prescription) and it works!
This food is stinky, for sure, but .. if you can get past that, dogs seems to love it. I put the contents into a microwave safe bowl, smush it with a fork, heat it up for 30 seconds and let it sit for a STINKY - but he LOVES it! I will add the Duck flavor typically has little to no bone broth at all and my dog won't eat it, but he loves the Beef and Pork flavors. It is worth a try if you have a picky eater.… more

Picky Chihuahua approved!

Out of my 10 boys only my Chihuahua constantly decides he doesn't want some sort of wet food anymore. So far he has downed the beef and chicken on his dry. I agree that the fat in the beef and jelly in the chicken is gross but you are paying for pure meat without the peas, carrots, etc. The cans do clearly state that the "meatballs" do shrink during the cooking process. I got 3 meals out of the beef and 4 from the chicken for my little guy. 75¢ to $1 per meal is much cheaper than Nulos pouches so I'm satisfied... as is my Clarkie.
All the dogs love this product

I have 3 dogs; 4 year old German Shepherd, 8 year old Rat Terrier, and 6 year old Chihuahua. I have been feeding them grain free for years and the benefits can be seen and felt with their coat, less allergies-weeping eyes, and overall good health.
I tried this canned beef because it’s as close to the source I can find. It smells and looks great! The dogs LOVE this food. I can make one can last two days as I put over their grain free dry food.
I highly recommend this product. I will be adding this to my auto ship.
My dogs seemed to like it,BUT.......

You don't get a whole can of food. The can is only half a can of food, the rest is greasy liquid. I can usually get a full month of use out of a case of canned dog food. Even with cutting it way back and only using for their medications, I still had to go to pet store and buy extra canned food. If they fill the cans completely up, I would buy it again.

Cans have big chunks of fat! I'm glad the cans came upside down and most of the fat was at the top. Several tablespoons of it on top and thru out the can. I won't buy it again. Waste of money since I'm throwing out around 1/4 to 1/3 of the can.
Dogs love but...

My dogs love the Nothing Else Beef but the floating grease grosses me out, plus there really isn't that much beef in the can. I get much more for my money with their Duck, Salmon, and Pork varieties.
