- To measure the neck, you'll measure around the broadest part of the neck.
- To measure the depth, you'll measure from the neck to the snout.
The second measurement (neck to snout) is the most critical, as the collar needs to extend beyond the nose in order to provide effective protection. If your dog or cat’s nose is sticking out of the end of the cone, they may be able to reach the affected areas. If the dog happens to be in between sizes it's then recommended to select the bigger size.

If any of the measurements are 'between' two sizes, choose the larger size. If your measurements are toward the upper end of the range given for a particular size, you may also want to choose the larger size, as you may also wish to do for heavily coated dogs to accommodate all that fur.

Way too Heavy for a Cat

As adorable and soft as this is, I had to use the vet provided collar. It was way too heavy for my 13 pound kitty to lift his head. He had allergies and is currently wearing a collar to heal some scratches. I don’t recommend for a cat.

Way better than the plastic cone

This recovery collar is so much better than the plastic ones. They are soft and you choose the size for your dog. They can sleep on it because it’s soft. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it folds back (toward their tail) easily, which defeats the purpose of the cone.

This is great for any animal who needs a cone. It's padded so my girl has used it as a pillow and has slept and recovered perfectly. Would definitely get again if needed.

Got this for my 10lb cat; neck a bit smaller than I thought for her but I would definitely recommend the collar. I ordered a medium too just to be covered and that was the better fit. Sharing them with my friend and her cats.

wonderful collar

I ordered the XXL for my 40 lb pup for after her spay surgery. The velcro made it so easy to put on and take off. The material was so soft and it would lie forward or backwards but both positions were very comfortable for my girl. She had it on when she was in her crate. It did its job and she looked so so cute.

Good collar

I purchased this collar for my cat who is suffering from a skin allergy of some sort. He had pulled all his fur out around the lower part of his body. Vet gave me a shampoo to use and I got this collar. After about 3 weeks he is doing much better and is not able to bite at the area. Now I am leaving the collar off during the day and he is wearing it at night and so far so good!

Perfect, Comfy Cone.

I was hesitant that this cone would be a little too big for my adult male Bombay, but it fit him quite nicely! (We are healing some flea allergen induced dermatitis that he keeps irritating.) He was able to manipulate the fabric and get it off once, but he’s gotten used to it now. The cone is soft and my cat is quite persistent, so the strong Velcro is great. Chewy sent me this two days after I ordered it. Two awesome companies helping my pets heal.

This collar is very durable fabric, and soft to touch at same time. Comfortable on pet, my cat made no attempt to get it off. Washable, and easily put on. Only complaint, it only comes in pink for small cat size and my cat is male!

My dog has a skin problem and I need a cone that she can't reach anything. This one she can reach most everything but her ears. It would help if you are keeping a constant eye on your pet. She is 11 pounds and has long legs. If your dog has short legs would work better.
