Broke after 30 minutes. Do Not Buy This Toy!
Do not purchase this toy. I thought this would be fun for our new feral cat but it did not even last long. Firstly, it is REALLY LOUD! Like crazy loud that scared her at first. I had to turn it off and let her smell it and put her paws in to get her comfortable before even turning it on again. The mechanism is loud. It allows for a bird chirping sound to be on or off. Without the bird sound she was terrified. Bird sound made her curious and cautious. Other than that, this is poorly made. The movements are super fast and it doesn't allow the cat to actually play properly with it. She was not interested in it while on. She only wanted to play with it off. So I left it off, went downstairs to get her lunch, by the time I returned she had pulled the feather toy out and tore it to pieces. That was it. The toy had zero function after that. What's left is a plastic end that if you turn on will punch your cat in the nose as it did to her. It shocked her and me. It was not playable after that and there are no longer replacement parts you can purchase. So we now have a really big object that does nothing and we had to purchase the big D batteries for it which are useless now as well. I do not recommend this for anyone.
Why didn't I read the reviews?
This thing is too fast and too noisy. It scares all 3 of my cats. This is the 2nd toy I've purchased like this, years ago bought a cheese shaped one. Again too fast and too noisy, scared the cats I had then too. Figured I have two new kittens now and that I'd give this different one a chance (while making the mistake of not reading reviews). Both have SO much potential though. If it were slower or had speed options... if the mice would stay out for just a tiny bit longer and if the sound of the gear/things spinning was muffled by something. Would it just then be too expensive? Despite these ones aren't worth having paid for anyway. I might be able to salvage the mouse and feathers that came with it to be on DIY wands or something at least... though 19.99 is a bit expensive for that probably being my only use for this product.
Best toy for my Turkish Angora Grandson
I know it sounds crazy, buy my daughter talked me into a kitten a year ago. Gregory my 1 year old Turkish Angora Grandson. He is an attention seeker, full of energy more than most cats. This has quickly become one of his favorite toys! It tires him out and so it's become one of my favorite toys!
