Life Saver!
I was in big trouble with my favorite pet as she began more and more to eat only non nourishing treats over any food I provided. Being very concerned for her health I started searching and came up empty. Chewy helped me learn about American Journey and all chicken freeze dried grain free treats. Bobbi loves it!! And I know now that she is eating healthy. Thanks Chewy and American Journey
Rancid smell
I purchased these freeze dried chicken treats March 25 open them June 30 and the product smells like rancid oil. The freshness date is 12/20/22. My Cat goes crazy even with the rancid smell but I’m not gonna continue to feed them to him. Just fyi on this product. My house is 68° consistently But I’ve never had another freeze dried chicken product do this.
A Hit With the Boys, But...
...I wish CHEWY could find a way to deliver such a delicious treat for my boys so that it didn't arrive partially in shreds. The good thing is, Hawkeye and B.B. love the American Journey Freeze-Dried Chicken Breast in any condition: shredded or whole "bites" so it's just me that's disappointed with the composition of the product. I enjoy tossing treats to the boys and shreds cannot be tossed, but must be hand fed (which is not a bad bonding experience, I must admit!) Either way, a grand slam for my kitties!
All chicken
My husband’s cats love this! They used to like Pure Bites Freeze-Dried Chicken until something in their formula changed. Some of them like Stella & Chewy’s freeze dried food as treats. But American Journey—they all like it. Smells like chicken, looks like chicken—works for us!
Cat loves it
My cat doesn’t really like the other “typical” cat treats, but she loves this freeze-dried chicken. Since the ingredient only contains chicken, I think it’s healthy. The bag contains a lot of shredded pieces, so I would usually sprinkle some on top of the cat food.
Cats LOVE it, but........
Not the first time this has happened, but I can only use about 1/10 of this bag. It was packed UNDER a 9lb box of hay. So it is basically powder, which is useless to me and the cats. Very disappointing. So if you are only ordering lightweight things, it would be worth it. If you have multiple species and need some heavy things, better pass on it.
Best Treat Ever
My kitty absolutely goes bonkers for this treat. It has no additive, just chicken. I gave it 4 stars because half way through the bag, the pieces are so small (shavings/sawdust like pieces), that it is almost impossible to hand feed your cat the treat. My cat loves them.
Used to be Yummy
First tried these treats for Christmas last year. Salem and Sabrina LOVED them. They would scarf em down and beg for more! So, I added the treats to the rotation. However, just as a few other cat parent's mentioned; something has happened to the freshness. When I opened the pouch from this month's order, the treats have a weird smell. I gave them each one, to see if it was just my nose? But, both kitties looked at me, as if to say what is that? And won't eat it.
My cat LOVED these treats until 6 months ago..
My cat would eat the whole bag if I let her. One shipment we got in 6 months ago, where I bought 6 bags she snubbed them all. The did smell weird too and were oddly super flat. She hasn't ate any since but I am trying it one more time to see if it was just a bad batch.
Mostly Shreds!
These are good, my cat and dog both like these. I would give 5 stars, BUT most of the bag is nothing but shreds, not pieces big enough to give as treats. I will have to use the shreds as toppers. She did love the Salmon much more, so I will go back to them next time I order.
