Good dog food
I wanted to give my 17 year old girl something to provide for her energy needs, yes she was still very active, right up to the end. Both girls loved this food, alot. My 17 year old fur baby had bladder cancer and passed away in March (I couldn't write about it then) so we had a lot of food left over. I recently purchase the bigger nugget and our Sadie still likes it. She is adjusting to her companion being gone. it is a great food and dogs like it.
Amazing difference
I purchased this dog food because my doodles were constantly scratching and occasionally throwing up. They were on a sensitive stomach food from a very well known and popular brand that absolutely had the nastiest fish smell to it. So I decided to try a no grain type dried dog food. Its been 2 weeks now that I switched them to American Journey active life and their coats are silky soft and shiny. No throw up either. The switch was easy with no side effects and they have minimal amount of poop. I would definitely recommend his dog food.
My pups like it....but I'm curious
I used it for the first time 2 days ago. Good news! My guys stuck their head in the bowl of dry food-the ultimate test-- and ate everybite..NOTHING added, no water and they seemed very happy. I would like to know who manufactures it. I've been involved in showing dogs and breeding for almost 40 years and to me it is important. The most expensive foods are not necessarily the best. THere are about 3-4 manufacturers who's foods are wholesome and dogs always will eat and they are more reasonably priced. As you see by my purchase history, I love ProPlan..Purina has my vote as my dogs always eat their foods, regardless of which one I feed and my vet regularly tells me how healthy my dogs are...I have had as many as 12 at one time over the years and their foods have kept them all health. I recently lost a 15 1/2 yo Field Spaniel, Beau,..and have had dogs which live till 13 regularly, in 3 different breeds. I hope Chewy contracts with Purina to make their food. I was looking for a little price break as I'm on a fixed income but spending a little more for good food means less vet expense, so I need to know for my peace of mind... Thank you Helen Howard
American Journey Dry
I have 3 dogs and each one enjoy the American Journey. I have a 10 year old golden, 6 year old bullypit mix and a 15 month old golden. What is nice I can feed them all the same thing. It took awhile to find a brand that didn't give my youngest dog the runs and American Journey is the brand that took care of that problem. I also, like I can order different formula's so they don't get the same thing every 2 weeks.
Not that tasty one guesses
My dog wasn’t wild about this food. Obviously I don’t know why. She leaves food in the bowl which is rare for her, actually very rare.
Comparable to Discontinued Lamb based recipe
Purina "Beyond Simply Lamb" dry food formula is discontinued. I chose this very comparable recipe Chewy product as a replacement. Our two senior dogs haven't noticed the change, and are eating just as enthusiastically as ever.
HE LOVES IT!
My 18 month old German Shepherd was not liking his dry food and was also having constipation problems. After reading the other reviews I decided it was worth a try. Success! Both him and his system are feeling great with the change.
Not the one for us
I purchased this as the Purina Pro Plan Lamb was out of stock, and although it seems to be a good quality dog food, my dog is not a fan. Will not be purchasing again as it was a mistake for us
Are all little dogs this picky?
I’m sure most dogs would love this kibble, but I have the pickiest little dogs, and they just look at me like, “what are you thinking” It’s probably my fault because I used to make them food from scratch. When my sister comes for a visit with her two Schnauzers, they scarf it up!
AmericanJourney Active Life-Lamb, brown rice & veg recipe
Our lil dog was eating grain-free dog food. Our Vet recommended we change from grain-free. Our dog has experienced skin allergies issues with other foods. After reviewing the ingredients I decided to try American Journey. This brand has not caused any skin allergies. Although we have a small breed, he prefers a larger size pellet but he has adjusted to the size of the pellets. We are pleased with this product and recommend it especially if you dog suffers from skin allergies. I rated this as a 4 simply due to the size of the pellets
