    Absolutely Recommend

By Awesome on Feb 25, 2021

My dog had always been a picky eater and sensitive to certain foods. He always had stomach issues when on purina, and at an early age switched him to Blue Buffalo. He like the Blue Buffalo, but didn't eat all of it every day. Some days he'd eat it all, some days half, somedays none at all. That was normal, but he kept a healthy weight and never had any negative reactions to it. After he injured his leg a few months ago, his vet recommended switching him to a senior food as his joints were beginning to show signs of age. That's when I switched him to this food, and wow, what a difference! He eats all of it every day and has alot more energy! It's like he's a puppy again! His leg is healed, and he goes on mountain hikes with me again, but now, he can go 5+ hilly miles at a time! Before, most he'd do would be about 3! Only problem now is he's going through good food faster, so trying to adjust the auto ship frequency to match. I absolutely recommend this food for your senior dogs! … more

    Good Senior Dog Food

By irishboy on Feb 4, 2021

Last fall, when my Irish setter turned 8, I switched my dog's dry food to a well-known senior dry food. Although I have always mixed his wet food into a slurry and added it to the dry, I noticed as time went on that he was leaving more food uneaten in the bowl each time. Eventually, he would only eat his food if I made it more appetizing with the addition of cheese or some other treat. I finally switched to American Journey Senior Dry and he is back to eating all his food. I am very grateful because he has meds that need to be taken with food and this seems to have solved my problem.

    Huge pile of poo

By Boerboel on Mar 20, 2021

My dog loves this food but he leaves the largest piles I have ever seen. I’m wondering if there is a lot of filler. I have never had this with other foods and we are feeding the same amounts.

    Happy Healthy Senior Dogs

By SeniorDogOwner on Feb 22, 2021

I have 4 dogs between 12-16 years old. They all love this dog food! One has arthritis and one has food allergies. All of the dogs seem to feel good with this food and are energetic. Definitely recommend!

Found a Senior Diet with salmon as the main protein

By SeniorSable on Jan 4, 2021

Our big girl has steadily been gaining weight and our vet suggested we transition to a senior diet. The first food we tried was chicken-based, and though we did a slow transition, Sable just couldn't tolerate it. She wasn't excited to eat and her belly was a mess. We liked the search function on Chewy that made it easy to search for exactly what we were hoping to find, and so far the change is going well. The calories per cup should help with the weight.....we'll see.

    Good food for senior dog

By DoggyLover on Jan 27, 2021

I have been buying American Journey, both dry and moist, for all 3 of my dogs. My vet suggested a senior dog food for my 14 year old German Short Hair and I chose AJ. Good range of flavors in both dry and moist food. My dog loves it and the bag size is right for a month's supply.

    Picky dogs like this food!

By Petunia on Jan 19, 2021

Our two picky eaters really like this food! They are always suspicious of anything new but they really loved this food. After eating their old food for fifteen years i was scared to try anything new but they surprised me by scarfing it up. We were feeding blue wilderness but now we have a new food.

    New customer

By Abbey on Feb 13, 2021

I’m sure it’s a good food and ingredients seemed good but my dogs wouldn’t eat it. But chewy immediately refunded my money, sent me my new choice without shipping fees. They were great

    Picky old dog!

By Browney on Mar 28, 2021

My dog won't eat it. I even mixed it with steak drippings and he wouldn't eat it. I guess he doesn't like fish.

    Good for older pups

By AnnienFreya on Jan 15, 2021

Great for my older girl who has arthritis in her “elbow”. She limps less and is more energetic. My other pup is picky and she loves the flavor. Only thing is I wish it came in a bigger bag.
