Real, deboned meat like lamb, beef, salmon or chicken always comes first in the list of ingredients, and you won't see stuff like grains, corn, wheat or soy anywhere. These meals are made with seriously satisfying, flavorful proteins that are rich in amino acids, salmon oil that provides coat-replenishing omegas, and sweet potatoes with beta-carotene.

There's a recipe for every dog, with a choice of several enticing protein sources from deboned meat that's full of amino acids to help maintain lean, strong muscles. Dogs that crave red meat can dine on savory lamb or beef. If poultry is what makes your pup howl, he can chow down on the chicken formula. And for those that crave seafood, the salmon recipe delights the taste buds.
Some pups have a hard time with grains, experiencing upset stomachs and skin issues as a result of eating a diet that is rich in wheat, rye or legumes. Fill your dog's belly and fuel his daily adventures with a grain-free dog food that is nutritionally sound with more of the things he needs to keep him going throughout the day.

Great Dog Food
By Cathy on Jan 30, 2019
I have a German Sheppard and a chiwahaeae. They both love this food. With all dog food, when changing you must start out with small amounts mixed in with their older food but after they come accustomed to eating this dog food you will see a difference in your dog. My German Sheppard had a skin allergy to fillers in other brands and after 3 weeks of feeding my large dog he stopped scratching uncontrollaby as he had been before. He is an older dog and with that comes joint problems. I have noticed a increase in his mobility and shiny coat. This food is small pellets easy for both my dogs to eat which helps me to be able to use same food. You feed less of this food compared to cheaper brands I have a German Sheppard and a chiwahaeae. Our new favorite brand!
By Huskymum on Feb 3, 2019
Finally something my husky loves! I decided to try American Journey when chewy had the BOGO sale and I’m so glad we did! We’ve gone through two other flavors already and he liked both, especially the salmon. The kibble size of this particular flavor seems to be just a bit smaller but it doesn’t make a difference to him. It must taste just as good because he finishes the whole bowl, which is something he struggled to do with other brands we’ve tried. I feel better giving him a higher calorie/nutrient-dense food and he’s even gained a couple of pounds since switching. It’s tempting to want to give more since when he licks the bowl clean but obviously he’s getting enough from the recommended amount Finally something my husky loves! My picky pup loves it!
By DoggieMama on Jan 30, 2019
We’ve been using pro plan and blue Buffalo for years. When our pup slowed down and was having some skin/itchiness issues, we switched to a salmon-based food. Noted that American journey offered a salmon choice, so we tried it, and our pup loved it! The itching decreased, and he had much more energy and spunk again! The high fat content was making us clean the yard much more frequently, but worth it to have a happy and itch-free puppy again. Hesitant to switch up a good thing, we thought we’d try a different flavor and see if we could improve the digestive issues we noted with the salmon. We’ve been avoiding chicken, but decided to give the Beef a chance. Another winner! Puppy loves it and We’ve been using pro plan and blue Buffalo for years. Both my dogs seem to really like it, but...
By Katie on Jan 10, 2019
I decided to buy this for my pups to try since they have stopped eating the food I have been feeding them for years. Both seem to really like this brand, but my drawback is that it's the same cost for half the food of what I was normally buying them. I was fortunate to get 2 bags for the price of one, but if they like this one to eat it's going to end up costing me double what I have been paying for food. And in all honesty I priced this same food at my local petsmart and it is the exact same cost as buying from here. So unless I can get it for a better discount it's just as easy for me to buy this food for my pups locally.

Our pitbull loves this!
By Pitlover on Feb 13, 2019
After seeing all the grains in our old "diet" food,we switched to the grain free lamb and beef recipe. Our baby loves the flavor and has lost weight over the last month of using it. Tip:if your dog likes "gravy" add a little water and stir to make the food appear to have gravy

ah.. so close..
By megatron on Jan 19, 2019
I tried this food because a lot of people said their picky eaters actually eat it. Well... mine kinda eat it. They definitely preferred it when I was mixing kibble together to transition them to the new food. They picked it out and ate it first. They still won't just eat the kibble. I mix it with the American Journey canned food and then they'll gobble it up. *sigh* maybe i'll try the lamb one next.

American Journey Beef and Sweet Potato Grain free dog food
By Annette on Jan 11, 2019
I have an EXTREMELY picky Border Collie....I think I have tried every dog food out there for him, with NO success. I was recommended this dog food by a foster mama to a dog that I rescued and I think I found a winner, at least for now. I got both the beef and the salmon flavor, and he likes the beef, not so much the salmon. I do put a little water on it, a very small amount, enough to make a gravy and he has eaten it so far every time. So winner winner for now.

Aussie Labradoodle Loves It...
By LeviBear on Jan 1, 2019
We needed a new food for our Australian Labradoodle as he became pretty gassy from his Fromm adult food. He was on their chicken food with grain and we wanted a grain free option in another protein to try and fix the issue. He literally burped and tooted like a sailor. He immediately loved the food and the gas issues are way down. So far a home run. We also used this opportunity to try out Chewy.com. Love that too- soo much easier than driving around to the stores for our family.

Ingredients approved
By TLL59 on Feb 3, 2019
Ingredients are completely approved by owner (me), but my beagle is being his usual stubborn self & balking at this food change. I would like him on grain free but he seems to not like anything grain free. It's only been a couple weeks with this food,so it still may be a yes...
