What is the carbohydrates on a dry matter basis?
Answer by TheMaddCatterof6 • Sep 17, 2022
100 minus protein, fat, and moisture percent values.
I noticed the grain free salmon recipe cat food contains "canola oil (mixed tocopherols)". The duck formula just says "mixed tocopherols". Is that also from Canola oil?
Answer by • Dec 23, 2017
The duck formula contains 'chicken fat' and is preserved with 'mixed tocopherols' and the salmon formula contains 'canola oil' and is preserved with 'mixed tocopherols.' Mixed Tocopherols are a family of vitamin E compounds naturally found in vegetable oils, nuts, fish and leafy green vegetables. Natural Mixed Tocopherols have great utility in preserving the taste and preventing the oxidation or rancidity of many foods that contain oils and fats.
Are the two main meals (duck, chicken) in the duck formula muscle meat only, or does it include bone and/or internal organs?
Answer by • Dec 13, 2017
This product contains duck muscle meat and also contains duck and chicken meal. Meal consists of the cooked protein that is ground to a fine consistency. This ingredient is also a highly digestible source of protein and minerals. Once cooked, all of the fat and water are released, creating a concentrated, highly-digestible protein and fat source.
What company makes this food and where is it made?
Answer by • Sep 25, 2018
This food is made by American Journey and it is manufactured in the USA.
My 2 indoor cats turned their noses up at it. I use to buy a brand of duck crunchies that one kitty loved to chase after and eat when I would throw them but they quit making it :(. So Looking for another one... Always donate the foods my cats won't eat to the Humane Society though.

Cheapened formula
Changed the formula and made it cheap which caused my cars to vomit daily for 2 weeks because of their formula change. This is expensive food the falls apart and have crumbles and shake that is wasted. Really unhappy with how they are cutting corners and increasing prices!

seems like like it
Got delivered today. First time trying this brand, my boy seemed to like it. When he turned 1 year old this month, I fed him with a much cheaper brand, he didn’t like it at all. Now he looks much happier with his dry food. However I got another problem…. My 5 months old kitten said he would give up his kitten Chow for this duck recipe. Baby boy kept stealing food from his big brother’s bowl. lol It used to be the total opposite when I gave Skipper the adult dry food he didn’t like. I’m glad this worked out fine. May try the Turkey recipe next time.

**Too** Good, actually hahahaha
Our cat has never much cared for dry food. For this however he goes berserk. We have to keep it in a sealed box. When the bag is delivered, he goes nuts. He'll spend about 2 days hanging out near the container until i suppose he realizes the magic box won't open in the night or when we're not around. So i'm guessing it's great

Cats like the duck more than chicken
My cats are ok with this although I wish they would eat more of it. I have 3 cats and they prefer this to any blends.

Begs for it all day
I can't believe how this "snack" has taken over my best furry friend's life! She begs for it every time I head towards her glass queen snack bowl. She even leads the way to ensure I don't get lost along the way. 2-3 years and still going strong since I tried it.

Fed this to my cat for years now it makes her vomit
My cat has been eating this dry food for years, but over the last few months she's been vomiting constantly... I thought she was eating her food too quickly because she scarfs her chow down, but even with a slow feeder she vomits. A few days ago I noticed when I gave her a can of wet from a different brand while waiting on a new bag's shipment, no vomit she held it down fine. Get the new bag & feed it to her? She's back to vomiting and I had to switch her food completely. She doesn't have any allergies so I'm worried the formula changed or something.

My little girl loves it!
I feed the duck mixed with the salmon. I highly recommend this food! When I first adopted my cat I went through a few different brands until I found American Journey, and I am glad I did!
