My shiba pup was stealing my bf's sammoyed pup's food whenever I brought him over and my cat's salmon flavored food. The sammy is on the large breed variation of this food, so I switched my pup to this. Idk why, but my shiba still seems to prefer the sammoyed's food over his own even though they both eat salmon and brown rice puppy food... just the sammoyed eats the large breed one. But, despite turning his nose at most treats and snacks and generally being a slow eater (so slow that I have to shield my shiba when we go over so the big pup doesn't steal his food) I've noticed he eats this faster... still slow, but he seems to enjoy it more. He also still sneaks the cat food, but cat food tends to be more protein heavy due to cats being more carnivorous and dogs being more omnivorous. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is I was hoping he'd have as much interest in it as he did the sammy's food.
I have female pit mix who is allergic to what seems like everything... Chicken, peanut butter, dairy like plain Greek yogurt ECT.. finding a dog food with no chicken that doesn't cost an arm and leg is awesome.. Which also helps because I have 2 pups both large breeds. I was paying $80 for a 22lb bag... It didn't even last them a month. I couldn't keep up.. I wanted to make sure they were getting everything they needed in their kibble they needed for their growing bodies. They switched over with no issue. I unfortunately didn't have much of their old stuff to gradually switch them but they did get a mix for a few days... No runny poos or smelly farts. Luna is extremely picky and loves it. The youngest pup will be 5 months old soon and I feel like he's gaining appreciate weight when he wasn't prior. We are very happy with this food. I also love that when they put grow the puppy food they have the same brand with the same main ingredients for every stage of their lives!
He likes it! Our vet pointed out that the puppy had some dandruff, and suggested that we switch to a salmon-based food rather than chicken-based. This food was honestly the only puppy food I could find with salmon, but the reviews and description were good, so I ordered it. Wished there was a smaller bag available (he's a mini Dachshund!), but he likes the food and I think his coat is already better. Also a tip about dandruff--he didn't like being brushed, so I got a licking mat, smear a tiny bit of peanut butter on it, and he lets me brush him all over a long time, he's so focused on licking the mat.
My old boy Mac chows down on the puppy version of the American Journey salmon. He has lost half of his teeth and the puppy version makes up for the gobbles he inhales and makes for easier digestion. I like the packaging it comes in - sturdy vinyl as opposed to the paper his former brand had gone to a few years back. And to top it off, American Journey contains the same healthful ingredients at a somewhat lower price.
My dogs are quite happy and healthy on this food. We've been using it bow for a couple of years.
My girl loves it. It has been hard to find a puppy food that she wants to keep eating and so far this is it!
My 8 month old collie puppy loves this food. Gobbles it up. The old food (I will not name names) would sometimes not get eaten.
I’m a firm believer that so many dogs have chicken allergies. Resulting in ear infections, bowl issues and/or skin issues etc. EVERY dog has their own likes and dislikes, etc so this is a personal experience. This food has been amazing for my Goldendoodle. A lot of these dogs can’t handle rich food and have bad ear issues. He has been on this food for 4 months and has gotten multiple compliments on how clean his ears are, firm poops, no tummy issues and no allergies from our vet and dog friends alike. Stinky breath is a little downside if I had to pick one, but he also gets his teeth brushed so it’s not that bad!
My three dogs have been on this for a couple years now with no issues whatsoever. I had my puppy and the same puppy feed for a year and there was no problems transferring him to the adult which was a major plus. All are healthy and well
My dog seems to enjoy this food. His poops are good and farts are not too stinky. The ingredients seem very good, and the price is even better! I have no complaints. :)
