When you start your daily adventure with American Journey Grain-Free Dog Food, you're always on the right path to the best nutrition. Real, deboned meat like lamb, beef, salmon or chicken always comes first in the list of ingredients, and you won't see stuff like grains, corn, wheat or soy anywhere. These meals are made with seriously satisfying, flavorful proteins that are rich in amino acids, salmon oil that provides coat-replenishing omegas, and sweet potatoes with beta-carotene.

There's a recipe for every dog, with a choice of several enticing protein sources from deboned meat that's full of amino acids to help maintain lean, strong muscles. Dogs that crave red meat can dine on savory lamb or beef. If poultry is what makes your pup howl, he can chow down on the chicken formula. And for those that crave seafood, the salmon recipe delights the taste buds.
Some pups have a hard time with grains, experiencing upset stomachs and skin issues as a result of eating a diet that is rich in wheat, rye or legumes. Fill your dog's belly and fuel his daily adventures with a grain-free dog food that is nutritionally sound with more of the things he needs to keep him going throughout the day.

American Journey recipes use top-quality ingredients that deliver beneficial nutrients, like antioxidants and essential vitamins and minerals.

Something's Fishy
By PatH on Apr 15, 2021
I am trying to feed my 4 dogs grain free. The vet recommended it and it seems that they like it and are thriving. This was on special so thought I would try it. I never thought they would like any kind of fish, but they do. The main ingredient is definitely fish because it had a slight hint of fish when I poured it into my food storage container. It wasn't a lingering scent however. They love it. I love it too, especially for the price. Grain free isn't cheap. I always buy enough to get free shipping and sometimes even have a coupon. Like having it delivered too so I don't have to lug it from the grocery store;.

Coat blowing season be gone!
By Christine1 on Apr 3, 2021
Every spring and winter when my dogs blow their coats, it’s always a pretty big mess. Spring tends to be worst and all the brushing and dog groomings help, but it’s still just a lot of fluff everywhere. I have two Rough Collies, so the struggle is real! I switched over to this in December and we have hit the spring shedding, it hasn’t been nearly as bad as it has been in the past! The fluff everywhere is nearly non existent! Their coats are super soft, and brushing isn’t an Olympic event that requires vaccumes on standby and trash bags full enough to make a wig. Highly recommend! :)

Switched from Supreme Source
By Shelby on Mar 30, 2021
Switched to this from Supreme Source due to it being out of stock. I did a ton of homework before making this switch, as I take my dogs’ nutrition seriously, and this came with an “above average” rating from multiple sources. So far, extremely pleased with the quality of this food! My dogs didn’t have trouble switching over at all (no upset tummies or loose stools) and both seem to have the same level of energy. The ingredient list is similar to Supreme Source, with lots of fruits and veggies along with a good amount of crude protein. Plus, it was a few dollars cheaper which surprised me. Definitely please with this replacement item and will likely continue to use this brand!

This food was okay
By Moxie on Mar 13, 2021 top1000Contributor
I tried this new brand for my dog on a whim because we were looking for something different with quality ingredients since her normal food wasn’t working out for her anymore. She liked this American Journey brand just alright... it’s not a favorite, but it wasn’t a total reject either... My dog will sometimes eat it, but I have to add some soft foods or toppings for extra flavor to entice her. I find the kibble bits seem to be harder and darker than other brands... not sure how they cook this, but we weren’t totally satisfied with this brand and will be trying something else. It’s worth a shot though, if you’re looking for something moderately priced with a good set of ingredients, though, I tried this new brand for my dog on a whim because we were looking for something different with quality ingredients since her normal food wasn’t working out for her anymore. Need to make a larger bag
By murr on Apr 1, 2021
My dogs love this food and I have even noticed that they poop less. The only problem is I have 2 large dogs and one of them is 7mo and 85lbs and eats a lot. I'm barely getting 2 and a half weeks with one bag and have now added 2 bags to my autoship. I wish you would just make a larger bag. I follow the guidelines on the back for how much to feed but when you have 2 big dogs that's like 8 cups a day. Please make a bigger bag or I'm going to have to switch foods AGAIN to something that I'm not going to have to order so often.

Fussy labrador loves this.
By Brewster on Apr 9, 2021
I am a five year old labrador retriever and a very fussy eater (NOT TYPICAL FOR A LAB) and have been on Royal Canan all my life. My Mom was worried when she found out that we could not get my regular food this month because I am not too easy to please. The salmon and sweet potato fit the bill. I eat in record time and experienced no issues in eating a new dog kibble. Thank you Chewy for the recommendation.

Please Make A Bigger Bag
By KarenC on Apr 6, 2021
I have a 10 yr old Boxer, with allergy issues. After several hypoallergenic diets failures, I found American Journey,Salmon & Sweet Potato. Now, her skin and coat look good and her itching has subsided. Now Delta and my 2yr old rescued, Lab mix, Woody, love their food and I love the benefits. Just would like to see bigger bags and Large Bites. Thank you.

Substitute for Wellness
By Katie on Apr 16, 2021
One dog loved it, for the time being, but she'll eat anything. The other dog tried it a few times and insisted on going back to Wellness. Apparently your shortage is over, as I have received an order of four bags of wellness. I think that American Journey is a healthy alternative. It is difficult to switch after many years on the same food.

So far so good
By MissB on Apr 2, 2021
I've got a senior pit-mix and decided to try this since it is for all stages of life. She likes it, no skin or poop issues Since it is Chewy's signature brand I figured that though the cost is low, the quality has to be quite good since the company's name is on the line. I also ordered her the baked grain free treats that she really likes.

Food for Willow
By Toby on Apr 7, 2021
I am sure this is an excellent product but when we talked to our vet she informed us that both our dogs are overweight and needed to be put on a lite brand of dog food. We gave that food to a rescue shelter and ordered a lite brand from you. We are always very pleased with all products that come from Chewy!!!
