I have a pit mix who has sensitive skin that will get very dry and itchy with dandruff if she doesn't have the right food. I had been using American Journey for a while but decided to try another food because the price had gotten ridiculous. After transitioning her to the new food (which is also a very good brand and formulated for sensitive skin), I noticed her scratching a lot. Then, the dandruff was all over her coat, and it just looked dull. I went back to American Journey, and within 2 days her coat was back to the glossy and shiny black fur that I'm used to. This is the best food I've found for my pit rescue, and I won't change her food again. Thanks to Chewy for prompt delivery!
My pups used to eat this, I switched to Fromm and couldn't get it. Went back to this and they have had loose stool even doing a small amount. The byproduct in food isn't the best. Most kibble isn't. Staying with freeze fried or dehydrated real food with raw now. Kick kibble to curb.
Salmon may be the first ingredient, BUT #2 is CHICKEN MEAL! While trying to limit the possibility of chicken allergies, this choice is pretty deceptive. Sad thing is, my dog LOVES this.
I had this before for my 3 year beagle with no issues. My healthy boy started vomiting day and night with this batch avoiding this as a whole definitely quality degraded or something bad happened. If you recently brought it be careful
This food didn’t work well for my Riley. We normally purchase Blue Wilderness, but wanted to try something new to see if Riley liked other flavors or options. She must have had an allergy to something this food. Her skin turned bright red and got dry. She was constantly scratching which is rare. She is a mild shedder, but was shedding larger amounts of hair. I immediately went back to Blue and within a week she was back to normal. If your dog is sensitive to allergens be sure to read the ingredients. I’m this is a fantastic brand for doggos not sensitive, just didn’t work for us.
This used to be great food that produced nice dark, solid poops, easy to pick up, never messy. But with the change of packaging they seem to have changed the food formula in it and now poops are light brown and soft, difficult to pick up. I am very disappointed. it took me a long time and a lot of trial and error to find good kibble
Good on-line selection, competitive pricing, quick shipping, pup looks forward to her meals. All Good! Thanks!
Proteins, etc. are near or same as Natural Balance and it has added glucosamine. My dog likes it the same as NB and it is helping him and costs less. I will buy more. American made.
This used to be one of the only foods my doggos could keep down (sensitive tummies). I don’t know what happened but this most recent shipment even looks different. The kibble is lighter in color and has larger bites. My dogs don’t want to eat it now and they threw up everything they got down. Oh and the price keeps going up significantly, like 10 dollars in just 4 months significantly. Sucks because we used to love this food for our boys and I spent over $100 on two bags for the month but now I have to find something else their stomachs can keep down. I wish they would have discontinued the product and introduced the new recipe instead of trying to pass this off as the same food.
My boxer really likes this dry food. He likes the salmon with the sweetness of the sweet potato. It is easy on his gut because there is no hidden lamb in it.
