WHY CHICKEN
By lab12many on Nov 2, 2020
I wanted to switch my 9 yr old dog to this since she already loves the salmon and rice, but there's chicken in this one! Many dogs have a chicken allergy and you already have a 'chicken' version of this dog food so why put it in the salmon??

Great ingredients Lower costs
By Irish on Sep 13, 2020
I spend a lot of time comparing the ingredients in my 15yr. old Standard Poodle's food. I was looking for an alternative to Avoderm that my dog had been eating for a long time. They dropped some of their recipes and all of a sudden Baby didn't want to eat it anymore. I checked out American Journey and took a chance on it and Baby loved it. He has tried all the recipes and loves them all ! ! And I Love Love Love CHEWY

Senior gone HAM
By Carrie on Aug 1, 2020
My senior golden lab mix Lou runs to his dog bowl for the first time since he was on a raw diet. That's saying something for me because he is a finicky eater! Now I don't know if it has something to do with the zesty paws salmon oil that I put on top of it as well however the results are not any different. I would recommend both products 100% especially for dogs with a sensitive taste pallet and stomach. just a little bit too expensive for me on a regular basis so I am going to be bouncing back and forth between the senior foods inside this brand. When he is happy Mama's happy

Made my dog fat
By 3Huskys on Oct 4, 2020
Started this dog food after my senior dog started to slow down. I have three huskies, they loved it but one gained 10 lbs and my girl gained 5lbs, in three months. So I have to rethink this. They were all very fit.

Chicken chicken CHICKEN and turkey, NOT SALMON
By JandJ on Sep 5, 2020 Top 10 Contributor
Just when you think you might have FINALLY found a new senior formula food your older dog with allergies can eat, they have to go and cheapen it with chicken. Fresh salmon (the first ingredient) is ~75% water. By the time that's cooked down for the final product, there is exponentially more chicken and turkey in this food than salmon because those are added as pre-cooked meal that has had the moisture extracted before processing. I used to like American Journey and recommended them to friends with dogs with food allergies because they DIDN'T put a bunch of cheap fillers in their foods. With all these new lines, I won't be doing that anymore.

New food for my boys
By Iliana on Aug 20, 2020
My boys are getting up there in years and not getting excited with their old food so I decided to try something new. They now wake me up at 5am and waiting for me at 5pm by the door. Very good sign they are happy thank you Chewy

We recently switched Peanut to this American Journey senior formula dog food. It’s been great, no tummy troubles, just tails wagging at meal time. #ChewyTeamRated

Great food switch!
By Trae540 on May 28, 2020
My 12 yr old 50 lb ridgeback/pit mix has never been food driven. She might eat when she’s hungry but never seemed to enjoy the food. When I poured this she sniffed, then devoured it right away. Couldn’t believe it. I don’t need the Honest Kitchen popper topper to pour on her food anymore. Yay!!

Dogs had no problem switching
By AshleyO on May 28, 2020
My 2 senior dogs had no problems switching to this food. They don't hover over it for a minute like the last stuff, they start eating it right away. I like the ingredients listed. My puppy is always trying to eat my senior food too looks like I will have to try the puppy version for her too!
