30 Day Review - Very Good
I tried this brand because of the current pet food shortages. My regular brand, Royal Canin Skin and Hair is unavailable. I have 5 cats of varying needs and stomach temperament, so I tried American Journey based upon quality, ratings and need for an excellent food that covered many issues. I introduced the new food incrementally over 4 days. All cats immediately took to the food. It is a smaller kibble than most others, which was no issue. During a 30 period the best thing to happen was 30 days and not one hairball, vomit or regurgitation from FIVE cats. Zero, Zilch, Nada, Nothing!! Skin and coat remained good, poop good. It was a successful transition. I am very pleased. Then there's the price... HALF of what I was paying before for two, seven pound bags of Royal Canin. I prefer the 7 pound bags for freshness, but I had a 15 bag of American Journey. The 15 pound bag fed 5 cats for an entire month. Very pleasing to the budget. The selling points to me in selecting this brand were: -a sensitive stomach option to cover many cats digestibility -salmon (protein) #1 ingredient -prebiotic fiber (hairballs) -omega acids (skin and coat) -taurine (eyes) It am very pleased with this product. It's actually a relief to have found a food that covers so many cats with ZERO vomit or hairball issues for a month, that has quality nutrition, at an amazing price, that is manufactured in the US, and available and in-stock.
Cats don't seem too fond of it
I started by mixing this American Journey Salmon & Brown Rice to what I had been feeding my cat, thinking it is a healthier choice. She didn't seem too excited, so I put it out for our neighborhood cats and they didn't empty the bowl like they usually do. I have to surmise that this isn't anyone's favorite so I'm putting just a little in with the other brand, just to get them to eat it and that seems to be working. Sadly, won't be buying this again.
Family cats approved!
I switched my cats over from a cheap grocery store brand over this this. Both are obsessed with it and can’t wait for meal time! It took my older boy a few days to get used to it and not turn his nose up but after that we chows it down.
My picky cat actually likes this food.
My cat (like all cats) is a very picky eater, we decided to switch him from wet food to dry food. Usually when he eats dry food he has stomach issues and it's pretty messy, but with this food he loves it, and his stomach is fine.
Great Start!
Just got my first bag today. I planned on mixing this with their previous food until they adjusted to the change. I put a little into their food dishes with their usual food. Both cats dove into the food dishes. One was even pushing the other cat away from her dish. They definitely had a great impression of this! I guess the switch to the new food will not be an issue. I had made the switch when one of my current dry foods was no longer available. I found this and due to the comments about no more vomiting, I chose to try it. One or both of our cats has been vomiting pretty regularly lately, so I am hopeful this food will put an end to it.
My girls are so happy
This is the best brand of cat food I have ever purchased. I especially love this formula for sensitive stomachs. I have two cats. One of them does have a sensitive stomach and most foods make her sick. Not this one. Since I have been buying it she has stopped getting sick. Thanks Chewy for keeping my girls healthy and happy
Gideons Dry food Yums
Gideon is a finicky kitty with a sensitive stomach. This kibble is perfectly sized for him to eat as he seldom chews. No mess left behind and no rejection. Cleans his dish every time.
They like it
My two kitties seem to like this food. They liked the AJ Grain Free Turkey and Chicken Recipe but some of the reviews stated the recipe may have changed so I opted to get the Total Health formula. Thus far, they are eating it heartily and they seem to be doing well.
Nope nope nope
Both the indoor and the outdoor literally ran away from this food. The only critter who liked it was the raccoon in the wild.
Not for us
I purchased this food in hopes that it would help my Ragdoll from regurgitating almost every kibble he ate. I will be donating this uneaten bag to a local shelter, I'm sure they will love it! We'll give a different brand a try and We'll keep trying until we find the right one for us.
