I have been ordering American Journey wet food for my beagles for some time now. Looks good, smells great and they love it.

Dog loves it, but dangerous packing

Switched my older malamute to wet food once per day. First order arrived. And literally half the cans were dented. When she ate the food from those cans, she had 3 days of intestinal problems. My stupidity. I called Chewy to complain about condition of cans, and they graciously sent a replacement free if charge. The replacement package and same dented cans. We noticed the damaged goods were in the middle surrounded by perfect cans. This was not something which happened during shipping. The inferior cans were purposely packed in the middle. We threw them away. Third shipment arrived and the same thing happened again. Called Chewy and told them I'm not calling to complain and request a free replacement. I'm calling to tell you that half the case arrives unusable, my dog's health is at stake, and someone in your warehouse is purposely hiding the damage cans in the middle of the case to rip off your customers. Therefore, I no longer trust your brand, and I'm switching to Blue. Will sacrifice convenience any day for the health of my mally and value of my hard earned money. Funny how my cat food cans arrive in pristine condition, but my canned dog food is a disaster.

Short Transition

One of my dogs had a dental procedure and I had to go to soft food from kibble. She was on American Journey dry kibble prior to the procedure. She did have some loose stools in the first 1-2 days, but after those first days she was good to go. We soaked the kibble in water for a few hours to soften it and help with the transition. It will be difficult to go back to the kibble as she absolutely loves the canned food.

I mix the American Journey canned food with their kibble food, and they gobble it up. They love it more, when I add a little water, to make “gravy”.

Pretty Good

On the healthier side, she's willing to eat it, just thick and hard to get out of the cans.

Dogs love it

My two dogs were picky eaters sometimes they would walk away from their food. Now, they are excited when they see me coming with their meals. I don't feed it to them everyday and they are still eating better than before.

My picky eater has found something she likes. I add half a can to her dry food and she gobbles it up.

Damaged cans

Just unwrapped the box of 12 cans and almost every one is dented. Which is strange because the box and wrapping they came in looked fine. It was as if someone had a bunch of damaged cans and decided to wrap them and send them anyway.

Don't bother

My dog didn't eat any of this food after I gave it to her.
