With autoship discount, in 2020, this bag was $28. When I bought it last month it was $36. Today, it’s $38. I understand inflation, but AJ isn’t the same bargain it used to be. I also have the same negative feelings about the loss of the hook & loop closure. My rating isn’t reflecting these inconveniences, as they aren’t a factor for the food quality. That aside, I’ve found this food isn’t a good fit for my girl’s tummy anymore. We just finished a bag of duck and I switched back to this, because of the astronomical price difference. I use dry food sparingly for treats and training, but still did a slow re-introduction of the new flavor. Unfortunately, she’s now been having loose, extremely smelly stool and a very stinky booty. She loves the flavor, but something unholy happens in her gut and we all suffer for it. I’ve passed my bag on to a local rescue & colony feeding group for the ferals and will go back to the significantly more expensive duck (fingers crossed that formula hasn’t changed).
I also think that something has changed in either the ingredients or the processing of the food when your on a budget but still want to give your cats the best that you can squeeze into your budget and finally think you found the right food and then they change it plus keep bumping up the price (NOT GOOD)🙀😾
Being an older elderly with trouble knees, having the cat litters delivered to my home is what I really need right now and on. All I have to do is drag the boxes inside house from the porch. The cats are happy.
The grain free dry food seems to be a favorite with our cat. Since she doesn't like salmon at all and tuna, not much, the Turkey & Chicken American Journey fits the bill.
My cats love this food! The problem is Chewy has increased the price per bag over 52% in the last three years. 12lb bags used to cost $25. Now it’s almost $40. Also, the bag redesign is lacking. I wish they’d bring back the Velcro bag seal. Reigning in the price and fixing the bag design would make this 5 stars. Do better Chewy!
My girls like this bec it is Turkey which is the only flavor meat they eat. They don't even like fish. I buy 4 different brands and mix them together. They eat it all!!
The cats love it. It seems just as healthy as the food we're replacing, so it will be part of their regular diet from now on.
My cat loves this food. She also eats a small bit of wet food but the second I pour the dry she stops eating the wet and eats the dry.
We have very picky cats, and I was having problems with finding food that they would eat but they love it!
Feline IBS, diarrhea? I started buying this product in 2020 for my 18-lb Tinker w summer skin allergies -- marked improvement. Then recently little Lena (10 years), started having persistent diarrhea. I couldn't identify any environmental thing that had changed to cause it. She rarely goes outdoors. With 8 cats all free-fed on blends of "commonly available" kibble, I decided to try making sure Lena was eating mostly American Journey. Problem solved practically overnight. Healthy tootsie rolls every day now.
