where are the ingredients from?

This food is made in the USA. The manufacturer uses ingredients purchased in small batches from local farmers and producers to ensure quality and freshness, whenever possible.
Are the kibbles small enough for small dogs (5 - 10 lbs)?

The kibble is for all breed sizes so a small will be able to enjoy it.
Does this have added taurine

Taurine is naturally occurring within meat so you may not see it added synthetically in the ingredient listing.
Does this product contain Ethoxyquin preservative? Thank you.

Chewy raised the price!!! Otherwise great food

How did the dog food we’ve been buying for years with Chewy go from $64 in April to $80 in June!??

Has become awful

We had been feeding our dogs this food for the last couple of years and the dogs always seemed happy with it. That is until the last bag that we received. Something had obviously changed. The pieces were darker and smaller and most importantly smelled totally awful. It smelled like the oil in the food had gone rancid. We are down to one dog now and she would not eat it. We had to throw the entire 40lb bag out. Reading recent reviews, I can see we aren’t the only ones to feel this way. It’s a complete shame that American Natural Premium changed something that was so great and they have lost a customer.

What changed?

I have been feeding my dog this food for years and she always loved it but since I received the last bag I bought, it has changed shape and color and it smells like it’s expired. I don’t know how to describe the smell. Kind of smells like cardboard but worse.. My dog seems like she only wants to eat it when she is so hungry she has no choice. I have come home from work to see that she hasn’t eaten her breakfast or has only eaten half of what I give her in the morning which is not like her at all. She is fine otherwise but I feel bad and don’t know if I should make the gradual switch to another brand or hope the next bag is better and stick with it?

pup seems to really like it

I wanted a new dog food that was legume free for our Golden, she was not crazy about the food she was eating. So far she seems to love this food and runs to the bowl instead of sniffing and walking away.

formula change?

We have had both of our labs on ANP dry dog foods for about a year, one requires a special diet and the other eats the original recipe adult. We noticed on our recent chewy shipment the formula of the original recipe had changed (no indication of a formula change on the bag or the company website). Instead of the normal color (as seen in the product photos) it was much darker and had a chemical smell. It took our lab a couple days before she would eat it. Her stools look normal, but she also has a stomach of steel. I'll wait to see if her next ANP shipment has the same dark consistency and if so, change her food I'm just not a fan of this "new" formula. Highly disappointed..

It was good before, now I have to look for other choice

This dog food was good. Not any more. Last bag has much darker color and really bad rancid smell. However expiration date on the bag is 2022. It means it is not old bag. It is the company using expired ingredients. No more American Natural for my dogs.

excellent food

This is excellent dog food -- My friend suggested I try my dog on it after she switched her dog to it and mine wouldn't stop stealing it out of the other dog's bowl. I just switched my dog to it and she loves it. It's the only kibble she'll eat plain. She has tons of energy on it, her poop is smaller (yay!) and her coat is nice and shiny. Only trouble was shipping -- for some reason it took more than a week to get it to me, which left my dog in between foods, but Chewy refunded me the cost of shipping. All in all, I'd say it was worth it. Just build a little extra time in to your order.
