Is this a brushless motor?

Do I need to get the cooling care spray even I am planning to use with Andis 9pcs small comb set? Does the blade get hot that even through the plastic comb, would it be hot for a dog?
Answer by ChewyFeb 03, 2019
Due to the high-speed nature of Andis clippers, please check for blade heat often, especially on close cutting blades. If blades are too hot, dip the blades only into Andis Blade Care Plus or apply Andis Cool Care Plus and then Andis Clipper Oil. If you have a detachable blade unit, you can change your blade in order to maintain a comfortable temperature; using multiple blades of the same size is popular among groomers.

Will the Andis Magnectic combs fit this clipper?
Answer by ChewyJan 22, 2018
This clippers works will all Andis Universal Magnetic comb sets and all UltraEdge, CeramicEdge and ShowEdge blades, as well as Oster A-5 blades.

Which clipper would be better for shearing hair sheep for show? Andis AGC ultraedge or AGC2
Answer by ChewyJan 15, 2021
The AGC2 and the UltraEdge clippers are the same unit. UltraEdge is the type of blade that is being used. To shear sheep, you can use either or. We recommend a 2 speed or a 5 speed clipper for this job. We also recommend using a ShowEdge Blade to groom the body, ears, and face.

Got way too hot when with cooling spray

These clippers got so hot even when taking breaks and using cooling spray. They burnt my dog plus there are no guides that fit them.

Best Clippers for Standard Poodles

This is second purchase of the same clippers. I bought my first ones 9 years ago on the recommendation of my breeder. Those are still working great, but got the second one to alternate when they get warm. I groom 2 of my standards and these clippers have have been worth the investment. Great investment!

Hot, hot, hot

Did I mention HOT? Gave this product the benefit of the doubt because it had more good reviews than bad. Should have listened to the bad. These clippers work fairly well (our older cat had some severe matting) to cut through matting, but the blade was hot within the first 3 minutes. Not just warm, but hot enough where I couldn't press my fingers on it for more than a second without getting burned. I really, really wanted to be able to prove the bad reviews wrong, but I can only confirm what I've read. This product overheats within the first few minutes of use, so instead of getting everything done in one sitting, I'm now working on my 4th time in the last two days as I don't want to burn her. I'm really sick that I spent $200 on this :(

Clippers get hot

I was looking forward to these clippers. I have a 35lbs labradoodle and I could only get through a little section of her body before it gets to hot to use. My dog and I don't have time to wait until they get cool. They do cut very well.

Andis Equals Quality

I'm not a professional groomer, but have groomed my cats & dogs for decades. This is my second Andis Clipper in 30 years. My old one is still working & the only reason I purchased a new one is that I accidentally damaged the outer casing. I decided on the detachable blade version to eliminate needing a screwdriver to change blades. This model did not disappoint! It is so easy to change the blades now. It's the same Andis quality that I've always known. * if the lever/hinge that you slide the blade on ever gets stuck in the down position, (it did once initially), there's a very short & easy YouTube tutorial on how to release it. You need to know that it's not a glitch because if/when you change out the lever/hinge, the new one can be already stuck in the down position. It took literally a few seconds to disengage it & it was/is good to go.
