Great for cats, not so much for dogs with guard hairs.
Originally bought with the intent of underling with my wolfdog's shedding. It works great on his sides, chest, and flank, but when it comes to his neck and back, I find that it catches too much of his guard hair... It works great on my short-haired shepherd and my family's cats, though, especially when it comes to matting. If you're looking for a great deshedding brush, just be weary with certain coat types. Unfortunately it's just not what I was hoping for to use on my boy.
Perfect for Labs!
I have recommended this to several of my clients. All of them are pleased. This little tool has such an incredible way of being able to get the undercoat ( and a bit of the top coat), to allow much more breathing ffor the dogs skin as well.
Great for daily hair removal
Is absolutely wonderful for collecting the constant shedding of my GSD. Works best by gliding over the coat, and I have to fight the temptation to use it more firmly to get more hair out per swipe (it gets plenty out without pressure!) I use this on my pets, but I would use caution with animals that need perfect show coats since firm pressure does seem to catch on the guard hairs. I would say 5 stars for the family dog, 4 stars if using for the Westminster competition.
Get this tool for your cat
I cant tell you how good this deshedding tool works, if you have medium to long hair cats, just buy it. Doesnt matter if it is one coat or several, it will get rid of that hair.
