Not a fan of these clippers

    By Elyse on Apr 6, 2021 top500Contributor

My old pair of clippers is going on three years old, so I figured I should get a new, sharper pair. I saw this brand had better reviews than my other pair, so I figured I'd give them a try. Unfortunately, they do not work my 50 lb dog.... First off, these clippers are almost twice the size as my previous ones. They are not very easy to hold in your hand or use. Secondly, I do not find them to be the sharpest clippers, and my pup dislikes this pair even more than the last. Lastly, the nail guard seems to leave wayy too much room - it is not flush against the clippers, but actually bends away from them. I am very worried I am going to cut the quick of her nails with these. I have put these aside My old pair of clippers is going on three years old, so I figured I should get a new, sharper pair. Tough Dog Nails Are No Problem

    By SubVet1999 on Mar 6, 2021

I have 5 cocker spaniels and they do not like having their nails trimmed. I had a guillotine style dog nail clipper that was not doing the job. I researched for a dog nail clipper that was heavy duty and could properly trim thick dog nails. The Andis Pet Nail Clipper was the most recommended online. I was amazed at how easily the Andis pet nail clipper did the job. The blades are very sharp and the cuts were smooth and clean. My dogs hardly noticed their nails being trimmed. I highly recommend the Andis pet nail trimmer. It made an ordeal I dreaded doing into a simple grooming nobrainer.

    So Easy to Use

By Debbie on Jul 13, 2020

I have bought clippers from department stores in could not get them to cut through my pit bulls thick nails. But these clippers were sharp enough to do the job and the even with my limited strength I was able to squeeze the handles and cut through easily. Like a hot knife through butter.

    Works great!

    By avm716 on May 12, 2020

Works great for my Toy poodle and Husky. Both my girls are quite unsure about getting their nails done so I only cut one or two nails while giving treats. I love that now they’ve became more comfortable with the process. And I see us being able to use these clippers for a long time. Thanks Chewy!

    Very sharp.Easy to use.

By Susan on Apr 25, 2020

My 10 lb dog’s nails had grown so long that she could barely walk across my wood floors. I only dared cut off about 1/8” to avoid causing bleeding. She doesn’t like having it done but I managed to clip them all. She now has much better control walking on the smooth surface.

By NOGO on Jun 2, 2020

it will clip fine for a few nails and then it snaps shut on the next clip almost getting the user. Hard to unlock and continue to use

Not great for professional use. Becomes wobbly

By Eglitter on Dec 30, 2019

These have not been lasting for me from a professional point. I do trim alot of nails at work and have become disappointed in this particular one and another . I have had basic clippers last a year at least but these I have bought a few times thinking I got a dud each time. They get wobbly at the screw like it is stripped. I actually had to use a fix it in a pinch solution and add a quick fix searching in my bathroom for the shower head tape because it would not stay tight . I have to keep hand tightening the screw which is annoying and ridiculous like it is stripped after barely few months old . May be fine for home grooming but not for professional use unless andis sent out a bulk of bad shipments These have not been lasting for me from a professional point.
