Our flat coated retriever/border collie mix has the strangest hair - frizz/static/soft/shiny/easily matted, just kind of a crazy mess. He hates all of the mat specific brushes and furminators don't work on his weird hair. I knew this brush probably wouldn't work on his haunches where he gets really matted but this is the only brush he will actually let me use without having a special bone or treat to eat. I use this on his fluffier larger body parts while I work in a mat brush in when I can and was able to brush almost his entire body in about 10 minutes!
We Are Both Very Happy!

This brush is a joy to use and be used upon. Our 10 month old Sheepadoodle has lots of hair. She enjoys being brushed and I love the feel of this brush in my hand. It's not too hard on the tangles and "gives way" when it needs to so as to not hurt the dog. Buy it. You'll be glad you did. I'm very happy with the multiple Andis products I purchased.
Cats Like To Be Groomed With It, But Hair Flies All over

Both my girl kitties like the feel of the brush nubs when I brush them, but the brush only holds some of the hair, the rest flies around and hits the carpet. I suggest you buy a lint roller too, to pick up all the stray hairs.
Fabulous Brush for Long-Haired Kitties

I've never had a long-haired cat before I adopted Eartha-Kitty. Not only does she have long hair, she is fully possessed of Tortie-tude so when she disapproves, you know it.
Eartha LOVES this brush! If I even put my hand near it, she will come and wait until she gets brushed. Not only does it apparently feel wonderful, it does a great job of deterring mats.

This brush is lightweight and worked well on my beagle mix. However; the bristles push in, making it way more difficult to brush out my longer haired Newfie.

My Golden pup may never love being groomed, but she has never looked better. The brush is soft with needles long enough to reach and remove her undercoat, resulting in less shedding.
Safe, comfortable brush for grooming

Our chocolate lab pup (Ellie) loves to be brushed and this brush is ideal. The pins are large, but not sharp. The price was great and the shipping was fast.
This is the one

My dog, a 54 lb. Australian Cattle Dog, really likes this brush, as do we. The metal pins are long, and the backing has the right amount of flex, so it's comfortable for his coat, but accumulates the loose hair easily, and it's easy to clean out. When you get to the areas near the leg joints and really short hair, the flex accommodate the contours easily without risking bottoming out and hitting the bone with the brush body.
The size of the brush makes it easy to control and comfortable to use. It seems well built to last for many many brushings.
Good brush on long hair.

Good for my long hair dog. Gentle but gets to her undercoat.

Not good at all- I have 2 short haired cats and it didn't grab anything. Better options out there
