What length does it leave the fur?

The #3 blade will leave the fur 1/2 inch in length, the #4 blade will leave the fur 3/8 inch in length, the #5 blade will leave the fur 1/4 inch in length and the #7 will leave the fur 1/8 inch in length.
I have a Portuguese Water Dog with thick curly coat. What size blade would be best suited to use? I have the Oster turbo A5

Will this blade be the best choice for a Maine Coon with thick but fluffy hair that keeps getting horribly matted?

Blade works great

Used to buy Oster blades, which are becoming hard to find. So I decided to try this brand. Very good quality, worked very well getting through my dog's thick mats. I am satisfied.

Struggling with using

Probably an error on my part. The blade tangles in his coat. I had hoped to use it in the cooler months so that it wasn't quite as short at my #5 blade. Not really the blades fault.

Grooming my dogs

I ordered this size of blade because I used to used the 10 and it shaved them to close to the skin. This blade is great size the only problem that it was hard to work with ,it kept pooling the hair and I had to go over twice . It wasn’t easy like working with the #10 Overall it’s a good product i guess I’ll have to practice?

Did not work

I had trouble getting it on my Andis clipper and then the clipper wouldn't run. I was afraid my new clippers were broken. I put another andis blade on and it worked fine. So these were faulty.

Andis #7 blade

We are cutting our dogs hair at home now instead of taking her to the groomers. The andis #7 works great on her. She is a schnauzer and it works great on her.

Great blades

Be very careful not to cut your puppy. They did a great job if you want a shorter hair cut but not a shave.
