Animal Essentials Ocean Kelp is dried at a uniform low temperature by hot geothermal water fed through heat exchangers. This procedure ensures all the minerals and organic substances are preserved, prevents surface oxidation and browning of the meal as often seen in oil, coal-dried or sun-dried product. The use of the geothermal water also means the production process is very environmentally friendly. This Premium quality, USDA Certified Kelp is harvested from the icy waters of Northwestern Iceland where it naturally grows in a clean environment rich in alluvial minerals. It is harvested with the strictest international standards for sustainability, separation of raw material, traceability of products and contamination control at all stages of the production process.

100% Kelp (no question in ingredients)

By Krissy on Oct 30, 2018

Some of these reviews are misleading. This is a good clean source of kelp at a good price. I foster and this helped my sick pups grow back a beautiful coat faster than their littermates at a different foster home. I give it to my own dogs for immune health. Even my crazy finicky Chihuahua will eat it mixed into food well.

    Questionable ingredients

By Chris on Sep 4, 2018

Just received this product and read detailed ingredients. Doesn't state source of fiber, so if from a grain source won't feed to my dogs. Also protein is Crude which wasn't specified online in nutrition write up, which was only listed as protein. Put my dogs on homemade food to avoid these types of ingredients. Sending product back.

    Seems like a good kelp...

    By Nicole on Feb 20, 2018 top1000Contributor

I like to switch around brands with my supplements (and food), and picked this kelp up for the first time the other day. Minus a star because it is pricier then other brands, but otherwise the dogs have no problem eating it.

    Arrived quickly

By HappyInNY on Aug 25, 2017

Hoping this helps make a difference. We ordered this along with a bottle of Ultra Oil. One of our retrievers has an awful time in the summer with dry skin and itching. Love that this is all natural and organic. Both dogs seem to like both products and wag their tails when they get it. We feed a raw diet of ground beef and lamb (liver). Along with that we juice for them with our Nutribullet and mix it in their meat. Will review again at a later date. Love Chewy!!
