Animax is the commercial name for a combination of medicines in an ointment form. It's a mixture of a corticosteroid, an antifungal and an antibiotic. Animax is useful for treating infections that are caused or complicated by yeast or bacteria. The topical treatment is suitable for dogs and cats. All you have to do is simply apply the Animax to the affected area as many times a day as your vet prescribes.
My Belgian came from a shelter and battled rear glad inflammation that is uncommon in the breed and in large dogs overall. After many appointments and regimens to support his gland health with keeping inflammation at bay we were continuously charged double the cost at the vet clinic for this prescription ointment. My vet has the rule that you have to buy the first 1-2 scripts at their clinic before they will okay for Chewy. finally on my 4th tube I just submitted to Chewy and it was okayed. We are at a point now with behavior medication, diet changes, and introduction of allergy medication we only need to keep this ointment on for Maintenace. I still appreciate that the cost is half the cost that my vet clinic charges for the same prescription. Due to its sticky nature, we apply it with a Q-tip.
I ordered this Nyastatin ointment to deal with hot spots our Golden develops after swimming. She is an English Cream, and unlike our other Golden, her fur has more of a wool consistency and is very difficult to dry. This ointment cleared these spots up quickly. I am very pleased.
well i seem to be the only person here to leave a review before trying the product first but i like doing research first and in doing so i find that the product is great but with flaws in how it is packaged.. with all the good reviews on the medication i'll go ahead and buy the product but have thought about the reviews left by others on how watery it is and how it squirts out quickly and not to forget how it can't be measured if using for the ears, my plan is to immediately remove it from the original package that way i can mix it up take as much of the water out as i want and use as a paste for my animals feet and put it in a tin or something like that.. but if using for the ears i would then decide the correct amount of water and put it in a vial with a dropper i may also ask a vet if olive oil or something like that could be used with it to help it dispense better my thinking is the water is separating from the other ingredients making it a sloppy mess but the oil may infuse with the other ingredients making it consistent I only hope i'm right..i'll certainly leave another review either way to let you know how my meddling comes out with the dispensing if i can make someone dispensing a better experience it would be my pleasure...
Within 5 days of use, my dog lost her hearing as a side effect. She's a very healthy 12 year old dog who has never had issues with her hearing before. Please be aware that this is a side effect and look out for symptoms of deafness.
Excellent product that helped with my dogs atopic dermatitis. Good experience with chewy...fast, accurate.
This ointment worked on Tovi's skin rash very well. In a couple of days the rash was healing up.
My Boerboel Samson gets hives between his toes because of allergies. He is a big boy (150lb) so this was very bad. This cream saves his toes. I don't know how it works but I apply it every night before bed. Put some socks on him and in the morning the hives aren't bother him that bad. Before this medicine he would chew his feet so bad that his paws would constantly bleed. He had open wounds and would limp. We tried putting a cone on him an he still somehow reached his paws. We tried booties and socks, and if he couldn't remove them then he would chew through them. And it got to the point where the vet said he might have to do surgery. This cream saved his feet. What more can I say. I just put sock on him after applying it so it doesn't come off because of regular walking and movement. But it makes it to the point that his feet don't drive him crazy. Thank goodness for this cream.
At direction of dermatology vet, I use this to help my pup’s allergies that manifest with ear infections. Using it 2x per week per vet instructions helps heal and prevent new infections.
We have been customers for a while with Chewy . Not once have we not been satisfied. We love chewy.
I've been using this ointment for awhile and with minor rash, I can see results in a few hours. With more extensive rashes it can take overnight or up to two days, depending upon how bad it is. Either way, the initial itching goes away in hours
