I have a mini bowl tabk which is 2.5 gallons. How would I use it if I don't have a 10 gallon tank
Answer by ChewyJul 28, 2020
When a powdered medication must be dosed for a tank that is smaller than 10 gallons (per the packet), it is recommended to do the following protocol for each dose: Dissolve the packet of medication into 10 ounces of dechlorinated (or tank) water. Use an amount of ounces of the resulting mixture that is equal to the number of gallons of water in the tank (for example use 2.5 ounces for 2.5 gallons). Discard the unused portion of the mixture, as the medication will not be stable enough in the water to be able to dose from this mixture on a different day.

Can I use this in my ten gallon tank that has a frog, a snail, a guppy, and a Betta (the sick one)?
Answer by ChewyAug 13, 2019
This product is safe for the frog, snail and guppy as well.

What medication is in this and the dose per pkg in milligrams? I have used this previously and want to make sure that info hasn't changed.
Answer by ChewyAug 14, 2019
This medication is made of 99.9% sodium chloride and 0.1% doxycycline hyclate. For each 10 gallons of water, empty one packet directly into aquarium. Repeat dose after 24 hours. Wait another 24 hours then change 25% of the aquarium water. Repeat this treatment for a second time, for a total of 4 doses. Then make a final 25% water change and add fresh activated carbon or replace filter cartridge.

Can fin & body cure be used with (or immediately after) a treatment using fungus cure? My fish had cotton fungus, that cleared up quickly, only to reveal a red sore underneath.
Answer by ChewySep 22, 2020
Any of the API medications can be used in conjunction to each other. There is no wait time on the usage of the products.

SAVED my Beta Fish

I bought this product as a last ditch effort to save my beta fish. I wasn't even sure it would arrive in time for him, he was so sick. every time he swam his fins would fall off, he was pale and weak.at the time my beta had been swimming at the top of his tank for over a week, despite trying everything the internet suggested doing for swim bladder disease nothing was working. my beta was loosing his color and had no fins left. I was slowly loosing him, he was suffering and I couldn't do anything to help him. I did these treatments as the directions instructed each day my beta was swimming farther down in his tank and by the forth day he was swimming normally around his tank. a month later my beta is thriving his fins have grown back and his color is even more beautiful than before. He is back to his spunky self following people around as they walk by and swimming to the top to wait on his food. This was a miracle for my beta.

Cure for sick fins

I don't consider myself an expert on fish but when I saw one of my fishes fins gradually disappearing each day I bought this treatment. I was reluctant to do the directions because it was rather intense and I was worried about my other normal looking fish. But I did anyway and all the fish survived the treatment I'm happy to report. Plus my sick fish's fins are grown back already. I have a 10 gallon tank with 8 fish.

Definitely recommend!

This product is exactly what I need. Within the first couple of day I started seeing results. My fish was very sick from fin rot and this helped her a lot! She was so sick that she wasn’t eating and her tail fin was completely gone. Her gills were caved in. But with this product she started eating again and almost immediately he gills got better! Now I’m starting to see her fin grow back!!! I bought 2 boxes so right now she is on day 12.

Quality Control Problems

The first two packets I opened were completely empty! When you get so few to begin with, that’s a big deal. :(

Near death..now thriving

My male betta, Azul, had stopped eating was floating on his side, covered in white substance and laboring to breathe. I'd already used bettafix and 2 other meds to no avail so this was my hail mary...Thank God it worked! It dud require the the full 4 day dose but he's now swimming, eating and looking much better!

Fantastic product

My tetra had a nasty case of fin rot, and by the time I was able to start treatment, there was nothing left of her tail fin and little left of her other fins. I didn't have much hope, but by the end of the 4 day treatment, I could see the infection was gone and the fins were growing back. About a week later, she looked as good as new. Highly recommend this product

Great for pet rat respiratory issues

Great price on doxycycline (one of two meds used to treat respiratory issues in rats). Just make sure you know the dose (typically between 100mg and 250mg per 8oz drinking water, in a water bottle, mixed up daily and old solution discarded.
