Ick, also called white spot disease, is a highly contagious and destructive, microscopic parasite that burrows into gill and skin tissue, causing severe damage and secondary infections. Early symptoms include white spots and darting and scratching against surfaces, while more advanced stages can cause labored breathing. API Super Ick Cure is designed to kill the parasite, usually within 24 hours, and adds a natural skin slime to protect tissue destroyed by the disease.

Use the API Dosing Cap on Bottle. Remove activated filter carbon from filter and continue aeration. Add 5ml per 5 U.S. gallons of aquarium water. Repeat dose after 48 hours. Wait another 48 hours then change 25% of the aquarium water and add fresh activated carbon. Treatment may be hastened by raising the temperature to 82°.

API SUPER ICK CURE is safe for snails, but it is recommended that you use half the normal dosage.
Should I remove my filtration media before using API SUPER ICK CURE?
Products that are designed to remove things from your aquarium, such as filter media, will also remove dosed medication from your tank. For best results from medication, remove your filtration media as you dose with API SUPER ICK CURE.
Is API SUPER ICK CURE safe for freshwater shrimp?
API SUPER ICK CURE is for use in freshwater aquariums only with tropical fish and marine fish, not shrimp.
Will API SUPER ICK CURE kill my live rock, and should I shut off my UV sterilizer?
API SUPER ICK CURE is not appropriate for use in reef aquariums, or aquariums with live rocks. Your UV Sterilizer will not be affected by this treatment. For best results, remove activated carbon or filter cartridge from filter and continue aeration.
Does API SUPER ICK CURE work for turtles?
API SUPER ICK CURE is specific to the fish parasite Ich. Turtles are not affected by this parasite. However, API SUPER ICK CURE will not harm your turtle if it is used in aquarium with a turtle present.
Is API SUPER ICK CURE safe for use with aquatic snails?
No – remove aquatic snails before dosing.
Will API SUPER ICK CURE discolor an acrylic tank?
API SUPER ICK CURE medication and many other API medications will discolor aquarium water. It is important to remove any ornaments or fake plants that you may not want to stain prior to dosing. Do remember that the discoloration is part of the medication, so do not try to remove colors until the end of the treatment. The discoloration will naturally fade with time and light exposure, but can be eliminated more quickly by performing frequent partial water changes and adding API ACTIVATED CARBON or API BIO-CHEM ZORB to the filter media.

This is extremely good medication

My babies where illing followed the instructions and now they are feeling much better. Lost one but saved three others, should have started the treatment sooner.

Super Ick Cure cured my sick fish. However, it does stain your tank decoration. So, take them out when treating your tank or they will turn a blue/green color.

Fairly certain it removed all the “ick” but also fairly certain it killed my algae eater in the process. Ick ended up killing 2 of my fish, I was able to save 4 & then lost the algae eater to the treatment.
